The five of them ran down to Town Hall.

Tom Nook pushes open the door in distress "Ms. Y/n!"

The room was empty...

"Ms. Yn-... She-... She's not here!" Nook frays his head worriedly. The others look around the room as well. There was no one there.

"Where could she have gone!?" Isabelle runs over to your office.

"Oh, I hope she's alright." Lottie holds her cheek in concern.

"Ms. Y/n must have been deeply hurt if she read that letter. I can't imagine how out of sorts she feels right now." Digby furrows his eyebrows.

"That letter is enough to make anyone furious! I bet she's up and gone by now!" Lyle states dismayingly.

"Oh don't say that. Ms. Y/n is a stable person, and not to mention very responsible. She'd never react in such a way, right Mr. Nook?... Mr. Nook?" Isabelle looks over to Nook who stared blankly at the ground. His navy eyes were pale, and his tail dragged between his legs. "Are you ok Mr. Nook?" Isabelle tilts her head. "Excuse me..." Nook mutters before quickly stepping out of the building. He walks over to the Plaza Tree. On the verge of tears, he covers his face trying to wipe away his watery eyes. Nobody seemed to be near, the town looked almost isolated. Making sure nobody was there, he sits down next to the tree and sniffled sorrowfully. "Ms. Y/n will never want to see me now..." Nook sobs.

The sun was now starting to set. A serene shade of orange painted the sky. Looking up to the warm-colored view, Nook's memories of you start to play over and over again.

"Mr. Nook! So nice to meet you! I'm Y/n. I've been told you were my landlord?"

" Ah- O-oh! Yes, yes! Right, this way Ms. Mayor!"

"Could I place my home right here Mr. Nook?"

"Of- Of course!"

"Wow, I paid off my first loan! How exciting is that!?"

"Congratulations Ms. Y/n. Come back any time when you want to customize your home."

"The color green really suits you Mr. Nook"

"D- Does it? I'm glad you found it that way Ms. Y/n..."

Nook then looks down again and sighs. "Who could have written that false letter..."

"Well, that would be me of course" A voice responds from behind.

Nook jumps and looks up to find himself with an old friend.

"REDD!?" Nook exclaims.

"Why so surprised Nook? Didn't you know it's the last Sunday of August?" Redd leans over next to his green tent. Redd's mischievous, slick smile reflected his wicked intentions. Nook stomps angrily "Were you the one who wrote thas awful letter to Ms. Y/n?"                                                                       "Oh, that? Don't tell me that's what you were whimpering about! Wow, Nook... You've really changed from the last time I saw you." Redd remarks condescendingly. "You did write that letter, didn't you! Whatever is wrong with you!?" Nook shouts infuriated.  "Whatever is wrong with you? How dare you steal my only customer!"  Redd claims angrily.

"Costumer!? You tricked her to buy your fake, worthless paintings! How dare you!"

"How dare I!? How dare you! Sleeping with Ms. Y/n to get her on your side!" Redd calls out.

"S- sleep!? Wherever did you get that from!?" Nook blushes aggressively.

"Oh Don't play dumb Nook! Sable told me everything!"

"No! Why ever would you think that!?" Nook backs away defensively.

"Yeah, you're right. Nobody in the right mind would sleep with a raccoon as horrid as you!"

"How much longer must you torment me, Redd?" Nook stops. "How long?... It's been years... and yet you still have the audacity to ruin my life even further?"

"Ooo how sad and tragic!" Redd mocks.

"It's because of you I had to start all over! I regret having trusted you in past..." Nook grumbles.

"Business is business Nook, theres nothin' you can about it." Redd shrugs.

"Business? You call scamming business!?" Nook fumes.

"Oh suree, like you're any better Nook!" Redd taunts scornfully.

"You scammed me out of business you sly fox! I lost everything!" Nook growled.

"You're making me lose everything too! Ms. Y/n was my only source! But ever since the two of you got close she's stopped buying from me. I live off this you filthy Racoon!" Redd hisses.

"Thats no reason to act in such a heinous way!" Nook argues.

"Stop stealing my clinets Nook!" Redd yells furiously and threw a firework at Nook. He quickly doges it as it exploded behind him creating a loud boom. "W-WHYEVER DID YOU DO THAT FOR!?" Nook excalims alarmed from the sudden attack.  "You think you are so great because you are close to the mayor, huh?" Redd threw another firework at him causing Nook to fall back onto the cobblestone path. I'm sure Ms. Y/n is probably just using you to get her loan cleared off!" Redd walks up to Nook who's leg semmed to be sligthly burned. "You are pathetic..." Redd glances down at him. Nook held the side of his leg in pain. "You know Redd... I sometimes look back at the days when we were all friends."

The orange light of dusk dissolves into a dark cloudy sky, cold rain soon starts pouring above them.

"I left home to find opportunity in the city... Sable tried to warn me... Now I know why..." Nook nodded. "I never thought my enemy was going to be the one who I used to call 'friend'..."

They both glare silently at eachother in the heavy rain. You could hardly see anything over the massive amount of water that fell from the black clouds.

"Mr. Nook!- Mr. Nook!" A faint voice was heard over the loud booming sound of thunder. It seems to be Lyle. "Mr. Nook, we found Ms. Y/n!" Lyle approaches Nook with his umbrella in hand. Lyle then notices Redd standing right beside him, Lyle backs away in fright. "Agh! What the-" Lyle steps back. "Ugh not another one of you..." Redd sighs. "Redd! What did you do to Mr. Nook!?" Lyle snarls. Without hesitation Redd threw another firework, this time aimed at Lyle. "ACK! THAT ALMOST HIT ME!" Lyle yells. "Don't come this way!" Nook warns as he starts to see blood trickle down his leg onto a small puddle in the rain. Redd looks down at Nook again and quickly kicks him against the Town's tree. Nook fell unconsciously on the mud.

"MR. NOOK!?"

"MR. NOOK!"
