What Goes Around Comes Around

In the meantime... 

You and Nook sit on the other side of town, exhausted by all the endless searching. The two of you rest against a steel fence facing the open field. Tommy rests on your lap. Sweat drips down your forehead while Nook tries to fan himself with his paw. You sigh, "Where could they be? We've looked everywhere!" 

He lets out a huff of sadness. "What does that fox want from me? I'm tired of having to deal with such things!" he facepalms. 

You pat Nook on the back. "We're going to find Timmy, don't worry," you assure, trying to calm him down, but this doesn't seem to help. He drops his head, "Ms. Y/n, do you think he does this out of spite, or revenge?" he turns to you.

This catches your attention, "Redd? Well, I don't really know, Mr. Nook... Maybe he was just jealous...  You seem to have everything he wants." you nod. 

Nook scoffs, "Everything? But I came from humble beginnings. What ever would he be jealous of?!" 

"Well, for instance, you have a stable job." You point your finger at the air. 

"But only that-" Nook scratches his head.

"You have kids and your own company! You are the best,  what is NOT to be jealous of!!!" You laugh. 

Nook sighs and looks back at the sun that was starting to set. You rest your head on his shoulder, "Besides, who can hate someone as handsome as you?"

"Oh, Ms. Y/n..." He murmurs. 

Suddenly you hear a loud crowd nearby. The crowd's loud gasps and whispers make you and Nook look at each other. "Did you hear that?" you ask. 

"Yes, yes. We must go see!" he nods and helps you up. 

Running towards the loud crowd, you and Nook try to get around the crowd, while holding Tommy in your arms. You two step forward to see Lyle, Lottie, and Digby on one side then Isabelle and Redd on the other. You freeze, seeing Timmy riding on Redd's shoulders. 

Both sides seem to be arguing with each other. Nook immediately fumes with anger. "LET GO OF TIMMY YOU- YOU- FOX!" He shouts. 

Redd slowly sets Timmy down. "Tom, I-" Redd begins. 

"SILENCE- I'VE HEARD ENOUGH FROM YOU!" Nook stomps. 

Isabelle latches on to Redd's arm, "Mr. Nook wait, you must understand!" she says stepping towards him. 

"Isabelle? What in the world are you doing!?" Nook frowns. 

"Yes, Isabelle! What are you doing!? I cannot believe this!" Digby looks at her sadly. 

"It's not what it looks like..." Isabelle shakes her head and turns to Redd. "If you just let him explain-" 

"Isabelle..." You gasp. 

"Ms. Mayor, I promise you I have a good reason for this." Isabelle reaches out to you. 

"There is no reason to ever be near that- that- SCAM!" Nook bursts. 

Redd looks down sorrowfully. "Don't be like that Uncle Nook! Just listen to what he has to say!" Timmy insists. 

Nook's eyes widen, "Timmy!?" 

"Uncle Nook, please!" 

"Come here this instant!" Nook tries to grab him, but Timmy hides behind Redd. "No!" Timmy refuses. Nook is speechless, along with the rest of the crew. 

The crowd of people surrounds them, creating more tension. Tommy on the other hand wakes up from your arms and sees Timmy. He gasps, "Timmy!" 

Timmy looks up at him, "Tommy!" They run towards each other and embrace tightly.
