Old Friendship

Y/n's POV

The next day I got up and out of bed early. I dressed nicely to meet Bud at the Train station. 
I sprint towards the station as I look up to the sunrise and feel the cool breeze hit my face. It reminded me of the morning jogs me and Bud used to take. I really have great memories of the guy...
I hop onto the station's steps and look over to see the train arriving. I see Bud leap out and look over at me with a bright beaming grin. "Y/n!"

"Hey, Bu-" I was cut off by a tight squeeze. 

"Agh- I- I- Can't breathe-" I gasped.

"Sorry, Dudette! I'm just real psyched to see you!" Bud laughed.

"I'm really happy you came too! How's your new town?" I say as we both head out of the Train Station.

 "It's Awesome, but I really miss this old town of T/n"

"We really miss you too. I'm so excited to see the other's reactions to your arrival!" I exclaimed.

"Well, I was thinking it could just be us. Just like you and me," Bud ruffled my head a little.

"Oh well yeah, we could do that too I guess..." I found it weird how Bud didn't want the others to know he was here but I understand he didn't want any commotion during his visit.

 "I was thinking maybe we could go for a swim and maybe just do whatever after that." He shrugged and smiled.

 
"Yeah, let's go then!" I say as we both made our way to the beach.

Tom's POV

I arrived at work and stood next to Lyle as we awaited a customer, as always. I did feel very low in my mood, I cannot express my dissapointment about yesterday that I failed to confess my love to Y/n...
Lyle looked over at me and gave me a pat on the shoulder. 

"Cheer up Nook! Ms. Y/n always comes by the store in the mornings, you might still have another chance to tell her your feelings!" Lyle nudged me.

"Its not that Lyle.... I know that either way I couldn't bring myself to tell her..." I sighed sadly. 

"Oh nook... You really do have it bad for Y/n..." Lyle nods.

"I have an idea, why don't we all take a day off and go to the beach! That will surely take your mind off that! I'll even invite the crew!" Lyle suggests. It wasn't a bad idea, and I did feel a bit angsty... I agreed and even told the Nooklings to join us.

Y/n's POV

We both dived into the sea and collected awesome creatures. "Hey! They don't seem to have this one at the museum! Let's go donate it!" I say as I walk out of the water.

Bud ran over to me and smiled. "Sure!" He agreed. As we both made our way to Blathers he took my hand and grinned. His expression caught me off guard as I gave him a confused look. We then saw the HHA crew, Tom, and the Nooklings ahead. I panicked a little, I didn't want any of them to get the wrong idea but I couldn't just yank my hand away either, It would just make the whole day awkward after.

 I smiled as I quickly tried to walk past them. It seemed to have caught their eye. I felt them all deeply glare at us. 

"Oh! Ms. Y/n! What a coincidence meeting you here." Lyle smiled at me and then proceeded to look up at Bud.

"Who's this?" Lyle asked passive aggressively.

"Oh, this is just my friend, Bud!" I introduced him.

"Oh! I've met that guy before. He used to be my landlord!" Bud pointed over to Nook. 

"A-ah yes that's right, it's good to see you are back-" Nook nods his voice seeming uneasy.
