Chapter 43

Third person POV

Gaeul looked at her mother in puzzle. "Omma, why are we staying in the palace?" She asked Haneul as she was preparing the bed for the girls.

"I just want to protect all three of you, baby."

"From what, omma?" Gaeul asked.

Haneul sighed. She looked at her daughter. She couldn't tell her daughter that the adults are going for a battle tomorrow right? They'll be scared.

"From someone evil, Gaeul. Now be a good girl okay. Stay here with Bomi and Jaewoo. I prepared everything for you, Bomi and Jaewoo. I'll put up a stronger barrier so don't ever step out from this room okay?" Haneul asked.

"Can't I help, omma?"

"No honey." Haneul shook her head, "I don't want to put you in danger."

Haneul sat on the bed. Bomi hurriedly climbed on her lap. "Omma, Bomi loves you." Haneul smiled, "And I love you more, princess."

Knocks were heard on the door and S.Coups walked in. "Everything's ready."

Bomi smiled at the sight of her father. She patted the bed. "Appa, sleep."

S.Coups smiled softly before he went to pick up his daughter. "I can't sweetie. Me and the others have work to do tonight and tomorrow. Stay with your sister okay. Listen to her. And watch over Jaewoo with your sister."

"Okay." Bomi nodded cheerfully, not understanding the real situation.

S.Coups then turned around and placed Bomi on her own bed. "Sleep tight, baby." S.Coups kissed her head and she chuckled. He then went to Gaeul's bed. "Honey, listen to appa carefully. I'm sure you are aware that there are many kids here in the palace." S.Coups started and his daughter nodded her head. "They're from the town."

S.Coups nodded, "Correct." Haneul sat on the bed as well. "Your Woozi samchon, Seokmin samchon and Dino samchon will be staying here, guarding you guys. So listen to them okay. Omma and appa will put up extra barrier around the palace. You and the other kids should never ever step out from the barrier. Can you do that?" Haneul was explaining things to Gaeul.

Gaeul nodded, "But what if they don't listen?" "This is when you should step up. You need to be brave and speak up, princess. You know the situation we're facing right now. You should take over and help samchons protect the other kids and your siblings if omma and appa failed. Protect them and protect yourself from the evil people, Gaeul." S.Coups patted Gaeul's head.

Gaeul went to hug her father. "Be safe." "We will, princess." S.Coups nodded.

Just then someone burst into the room.

"They're here!" It was Minghao who announced it.

Both S.Coups's and Haneul's stomach fell to the deepest. "Treasure Kingdom?" "They're attacking us now?" Both of them asked.

Minghao shook his head. "No, it's not them."

S.Coups and Haneul were frowning.

Woozi rolled his eyes in annoyance. "Why do I have to work together with this grumpy guy?" "Do you think I want to? Huh, shorty?" Yoongi glared at Woozi but Woozi glared at him back. "Stop calling me shorty." "And you should stop calling me grumpy!" Yoongi snarled.

"I'm just stating the truth, grumpy!"

"And so do I, shorty!"

Joshua shook his head, "Can they stop already?" "I wish they could." Seokjin let out a heavy sigh.

Seunggyo looked at Namjoon, "King Namjoon, I really appreciate your presence here in Odemore. And thank you so much for bringing extra help." Seunggyo was referring to the soldier from Hwayangyeonhwa.

"I couldn't help but to help, you know." Namjoon said. "It's nothing big. Besides, we're allies now. We should help each other out." The king added.

"But isn't weird?" Mingyu started. "What's weird?" Jungkook narrowed his eyes at him. "Think about it coconut head. According to that woman, Treasure Kingdom has a grudge against Odemore. So why would trouble herself to tell you guys about it? Wouldn't it be easier if Odemore alone fight against them?" Mingyu explained things.

Jimin rubbed his chin, "I'm thinking....maybe Treasure Kingdom had another plan for us." "Like what?" Taehyung looked at him.

"Like making us hate Odemore?" Hoseok suggested. They all looked at him. Hoseok was frowning deeply before continuing, "I mean there's a possibility for that. They can make Hwayangyeonhwa attack Odemore during the battle. That way Odemore will hate Hwayangyeonhwa so in return Odemore will start killing Hwayangyeonhwa after that. It's like killing two birds with one stone for them."

"I don't think we should worry about that." Jeonghan spoke. "We're allies now. The subjects are aware with that. And so do our soldiers."

"Ours too." Jungkook added.

"We just need to trust in each other. And if any of us encounter Eun Hui, do not look into her eyes." Haneul said. "If any of you fail that, I won't hesitate to kill you in instant. I'm not kidding." She gave them warning and some of them were gulping their saliva.

Minghao suddenly cleared his throat. "This just got in." They all then turned their heads towards him, anticipating his next words.

"My shadow birds detect movement 10 miles away from the south border. It's in large group." Minghao announced.

Yoongi suddenly got up from his chair and groaned as he stretched his body. "Let's go shorty. We need to keep the kids safe." "Coming, grumpy. They don't ask me to stay guarded at the palace for nothing. I will treat them some cold desert soon." Woozi smirked before he going out from the room with Yoongi.

King Seunggyo shook his head with a little smile, "At least we know now they'll stop killing each other."

"We should get moving too. Those that are supposed to get some rest, please do so. You'll need energy for the battle." S.Coups said. "The rest, move to your assigned post." He added.

They all nodded before they slowly went out from the room.

Jimin hugged Hoseok, "Please be safe guarding the border, hyung." "Don't worry Jiminie. I'll be fine. We'll go back home together after everything's done here. I promise you that." Hoseok was patting the younger's back softly. They pulled away and Jimin walked out from the room as well.

"Hoseok oppa?" Haneul went up to him. S.Coups was standing not too far behind her. "Yes, Haneul?" Hoseok gave her a small smile.

"Please be safe okay." Haneul looked up at him. "I will, Haneul." Hoseok smiled at her before awkwardly turned to S.Coups who's been watching for a moment.

"Love, I'll wait for you outside." S.Coups said. Haneul turned around and nodded, "Okay, oppa. I'll be there with you in a moment." And with that S.Coups walked out from the room, leaving his wife with Hoseok. He knew she means a lot to Hoseok but he know enough that the other male won't cross the limit. He trust him.

Hoseok slowly walked closer to Haneul and gently pulled her into a hug. He buried his face on her shoulder.

"If anything happens to me, Haneul, promise me you won't cry."

Haneul's stomach sank when Hoseok said that. "Wh- What are you saying H-Hoseok oppa? Nothing is going to happen to you. You'll be okay. You'll come back. You have too." Haneul was already hugging him back while crying.

"We don't know about that Haneul. We don't decide on our life span." Hoseok was now crying. "N-No-" "Whatever happen later on, please remember me. Please remember that there's a guy named Jung Hoseok that will always have you in his heart." Hoseok hugged her even tighter.

Haneul didn't say anything else but to cry while hugging him back.

Author's note : next few chapters gonna be some boring, illogical and confusing chapters since I can't  write fighting scene that well TnT 

A few more chapters to go and I'm putting an end to this book so hang in there
