Chapter 21

S.Coups POV

After what Haneul told me yesterday, I'm feeling bad about leaving my wife and my kids at home. I walked back and forth in the room. Haneul was on the bed, breastfeeding Jaewoo. "Seungcheol oppa, I'll be fine with the kids. You should go to work." Haneul said.

"I can't leave you knowing that someone was trying to hurt you or the kids." I turned to look at her. "I got it under control yesterday remember? There were like...I don't know...probably six to seven people went down yesterday." Haneul told me.

"Love...." I looked at her. "Oppa, I'll be okay." Haneul got up from the bed and put Jaewoo back into his crib after he finished drinking. Haneul then turned back to look at me. "I'm not a weakling oppa. I learnt new skills and techniques these few years. I can handle anyone."

No. She just...don't understand...

I walked up to her and held her shoulder, giving it light squeeze. "Baby, I know you're not a weakling. You're a strong woman and I know you can take them down, just like how you did yesterday. But baby..." I looked into her eyes. Her eyes that could suck me in to her world where I can see nothing but her. A world where I care nothing more but her.

"I don't want you to get hurt. I don't want a scratch on you, baby." My hand slowly trailed down her jaw line and she snuggled closer. She took my hand and gently kissed my palm. "I'm aware of that, oppa. But I promise to take care of myself." She then rested her head on my chest. She could probably hear my fast-beating heart. That always happen whenever she's close.

Even after years being together, my heart still couldn't get use to her close presence around me. It's like when we first open up to each other; nervous yet excited.

I gently wrapped my hands around her small figure. "I love you baby." I kissed her head. She looked up at me and pulled me for a kiss. "And I love you too." She replied before planting another kiss.

I might be late to the palace but a quick make out session won't hurt right? So I titled her head and deepened the kiss.

I sprinted towards Seunggyo's chamber once I was informed about his condition. Without warning, I slammed open the door. "Choi Seunggyo!" I called out for him.

He was in his bed, looking so weak, like a living corpse. I don't know what the hell is happening to him. Just yesterday he was looking fine. I know he's not feeling well these few weeks. But he told me he's recovering and feeling better yesterday. But now....

He doesn't look like my little brother. He loss so much weight overnight, if that's even possible.

"Hyung...." he weakly called me. His voice came out like a deep groan. I walked up towards him, "What happen Gyo?" I asked him but he didn't answer. I turned to look at Jun, Hoshi and Eun Hui who were in the room the moment I stepped in.

"He suddenly felt really sick this morning. I couldn't explain why." Eun Hui answered me.

I frowned, "That reminds me." I looked at her, "Who give you permission to be in this room? Only me, my wife and my twelve brothers were allowed to go in and out this room. This is theKing's room! You shouldn't-"

I looked down when I felt a soft tug. It was Seunggyo. "Hyung...I gave her permission." He told me. "But Gyo-" "Starting for today, she's appointed as the royal physician....and she will attend me and my illness." Seunggyo told me.

"And you trust her?!"

"H-Hyung, please...she didn't do wrong...."

I sighed. I looked at the three of them. "Hoshi, Jun, I need to talk to you guys. Tell the others." They nodded, "Will do." "Now, everyone out! I need to talk with my brother."

They nodded and left the room.

I took a seat near the bed, "Gyo, are you okay? What happen?" "I don't know Hyung... I was feeling fine...until this morning." He said. "I feel like my energy just got....suck out?" He added.

I sighed before I took my hand in mine, "Do you need anything? Do you want something sweets? I can ask Haneul for a help. I know you would want to have something sweet when you're feeling unwell."

My little brother smiled at me, "I see you still remember..." "Of course I do. You do not fall sick easily but I do remember that small detail, Seunggyo." I smiled back at him.

"We-Well I do need a help from you..."

"What is it?" I exchanged gazes with him.

That evening, three ministers, Jeonghan, Joshua and I were called to Seunggyo's chamber. I know it's a favour from him but I found it quite a responsibility for me.

"We're here, Your Majesty." The minister of defence said. "Help me up." Seunggyo said shortly. He and Jeonghan help Seunggyo to seat, leaning against the headboard.

He cough a few times. "I called you here to announce an important thing. I....already talked about it with Seungcheol hyung and he agreed. Just...need you to hear it....from me, officially."

"What is it, My King?" Minister of Finance asked. "As for now and for as long as I unable to carry out my duty as Odemore King, I will let my brother to take over." Seunggyo finally announced it.

"What?"

"S.Coups?"

"You agreed?"

"Your Majesty-"

"I have no choice." Seunggyo cut them. "We have no choice. Seungcheol hyung....was supposed to be on the throne, long ago. He...made a mistake. But he...already learnt from his mistake. And I'm sure...he should be able to take over my duty, for the time being." Seunggyo told them.

I slightly clenched my fist, "I won't change everything." I stated and they turned to look at me. "What Seunggyo's done until now, I won't touch it. I will carry his duty just the way he used to do."

"But I do need advice and opinion from everyone on certain issues." I added.

"Don't worry, Seungcheol ssi. We will assist you." Minister of Defence said. "What?" Another minister look at him. "His Majesty is correct. We don't have choice. We can't let His Highness to carry his duty, not in this condition. It's true that Hwayangyeonhwa won't attack us anymore, but what about other enemy? We need some to give order and decision when we need it." The Minister of defence added.

The room felt into a dead silent.

"I will assist you, S.Coups. We will." Jeonghan said. "We will too." The ministers finally agreed with Seunggyo's words.

I looked at Seunggyo. "Gyo, leave everything to me. I will make sure your love towards the country, the people won't go into waste. I will protect them."

Seunggyo smile, "Thank you hyung."
