Chapter 18

Third person POV

It's finally the day for the royal ball.

Haneul together with her children and husband went to the palace a little earlier. After making sure that Jaewoo is fed, she changed into her attire before going down to help with whatever she could.

Bomi and Gaeul were helping around as well. Both Haneul and S.Coups are not worried for their daughter since they knew their way around the palace. The people around the palace know them as well.

The two little kids ran into Seunggyo chamber while he was getting ready for the night.

"Yah! You brat!" Hoshi who was in the room to help Seunggyo was surprised to find the kids running into the room without knocking. "You can't just enter the King's chamber like that!" Hoshi narrowed his eyes at them but they just responded with sticking their tongue out to him.

Seunggyo chuckled.

Bomi got down from his bed and cling onto Seunggyo leg. "Samchon..." "Yes, princess?" the King bent down and picked her up. "Are you okay?" Bomi asked. "I'm good. Why are you asking that, princess?" Seunggyo asked his niece. "Omma said you are not feeling well." Gaeul added.

Seunggyo turned to look at her, "She did? Well..." he placed Bomi back on the bed and took a seat next to Gaeul. "She was right. I was not feeling well these few days. But guess what?"

"What?" Gaeul looked up at Seunggyo with sparkly eyes.

"I feel a lot better now that you visit me." Seunggyo smiled. Gaeul smirked at Hoshi, "Hoshi samchon, do you hear that?"

Hoshi rolled his eyes in annoyance. "You win this time, princess." Bomi then ran to him and hugged his leg, looking at him with sparkling eyes and pouty lips. "Don't be mad, Hoshi samchon. Bomi loves you." Hoshi picked her up, "I love you too, princess." Hoshi's heart melted at her overload cuteness.

"By the way, is Jaewoo here as well?" Seunggyo asked for his nephew to his niece. Gaeul nodded, "He's with Miho ahjumma."

Seunggyo nodded. He made a note in his head to make sure to pay the little baby a visit at the servant chamber.

KCOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!

All heads turned to the door. "Your Highness, it's me." A female voice spoke from outside the room.

"Come in." Seunggyo gave permission.

The door flew open, revealing Eun Hui. She had the tea for Seunggyo in her hand. "Your Highness, your tea." She smiled to him and he smiled back, "Thanks." He held his hand to her.

Gaeul quickly stood protectively in front of the King. She let out a loud hiss while baring her premature fangs.

Eun Hui stopped at her track, looking at the little girl.

"Gaeul what's wrong?" Seunggyo frowned at his niece. "This lady is evil!" Gaeul said. "What?" Hoshi frowned. Bomi hide her face at the crook of Hoshi's neck. "Bomi is scared! Bomi hates her." She cried slightly that Hoshi had to calm her down. Seunggyo turned to look at her and Hoshi.

Eun Hui chuckled. "I'm not evil little kid. I'm just here to deliver tea to his highness." Eun Hui told her. "I'm not stupid! I can smell poison in that!" Gaeul glared at her.

"P-Poi-son?" Seunggyo looked at Eun Hui, "Is that true?" "Your Highness, are you going to believe a little kid? She still has a lot to learn. I won't poison you. Even if I did, aren't you supposed to experience the effect now?" Eun Hui tried to come up with something.

Seunggyo sighed, "You are right Eun Hui. Gaeul, you need to apologize to her." "Never!" Gaeul growled at her.

"It's okay, your highness. She's just a kid. I don't take it by heart. Here. I leave your tea here. It should help freshen you up for the ball tonight." Eun Hui placed the tea on the dresser before she bowed to him and left the room.

Outside the room, Eun Hui kept looking at her hand. *how the hell did she know about the poison? I made sure I brew it right.* she thought. She took one last glance at the King's chamber. "I need to watch out for the kids. It's not good to have them around." Eun Hui gritted her teeth in anger.

Author's note : Hi! thanks for reading this. I know this is short and late. I'm really sorry. This week is a hell for me. I couldn't sleep unless I take my  painkiller for my slip disc. (man it hurts like hell!)  and when i consume one, i always sleep early...at 10pm? Early isnt it ^^||| so lets hope this pain will lessen by this week so i can write peacefully , with less pain ^^ for the time being, I'll serve you double update ^^ as my token of apology.
