Brooklyn: Oh, thank goodness.
She sucks in a deep breath when she first touches the ground.
You: I told you, you were scared.
Brooklyn: So? Humans aren't meant to fly.
You: Yet we do.
You're in the middle of nowhere. The airport isn't inside a city like the other, it's got its own area separate from society. It must be what most places are like around here.
Brooklyn: Whenever we were up, it was ok, but when we were ascending and descending.
She shakes her head and cringes.
Brooklyn: That was too much.
You: Well, you gotta do it two more times.
Brooklyn: I'm not looking forward to it.
The air is slightly warmer here, and it smells nicer. It doesn't smell as good as the air at your cabin, but it smells better than the city.
Brooklyn: Now, where is this driver we're meeting?
You: Uh, I don't know.
You look around; they were supposed to be meeting you.
Brooklyn: Maybe we should walk around and see if we can find them.
You: I don't know.
Brooklyn: We can't stand here all day.
You: Maybe we can ask John.
Brooklyn: I'm not getting him started again.
She starts walking without the two of you figuring out a plan.
You: What if he's just late?
Brooklyn: Are you coming or not?
You: Yes.
You jog to catch up to her.
Brooklyn: There's gotta be a building like the one at the other airport. One for rich people.
You: Maybe, it's a small airport. I doubt they really need separate buildings.
Brooklyn: I bet they have them because the rich people would complain if they didn't.
You: The rich people wouldn't come here. They'd be going to tropical islands and other cities.
Brooklyn: We'll find something, or we'll ask.
Unknown: Brooklyn and Y/N.
Someone snuck up on you—bad idea. If you didn't have your bags, you probably would have got to them. By the time you've turned, your bags are on the ground. The man stands unfazed, staring at you with a clipboard in his hand.
You: You can't do that shit!
Unknown: I am your chaperone for the next few days. Please come to me with any questions or concerns.
Brooklyn: Emma said to call her.
Chaperone: She is not here.
His monotone voice is creeping you out.
Chaperone: Now, any flashes of the other world that were particularly debilitating?
You: No.
Brooklyn: No.
Chaperone: Have you been hallucinating?
You: No.
Brooklyn: No.
