Brooklyn: Y/N, we gotta get out of here.
The only reason you were able to kill him the first time was because you did something stupid, and it happened to work out. Not once were you able to beat him in a fight, but back then, you couldn't beat Brooklyn in one either. Could you win now? His raw strength could be used to easily overpower you. One hit from him, and you'll be out, you know from experience. The first time you met, he took you out of the fight in an instant.
You: You go. You have no reason to stay.
You keep your eyes on your opposition.
If you fought him, would you be able to win? Right now, you could shoot him, but the men and women behind him would surely shoot you after that.
Brooklyn: I'm not leaving.
Herakles: Who wants to go first?
You: Run to your right out of that back door. I'll run left. We can split them up.
You lower your voice so Herakles can't hear you.
Leader: Herakles! Capture the intruders and-
You shoot him in the head without looking away. A glance away from the enemy could be fatal.
Herakles: Tell me, what did you do after I died? Did you get away?
You: Yeah, it was pretty easy.
You won't tell him you lost your arm.
Herakles: How did you die?
Brooklyn: Shut up, we have no reason to talk to you.
Herakles: Haha, you still have a shitty attitude.
Brooklyn: And you're still a fucking oaf.
He cackles; he's always cackled a lot. It's annoying.
You: Ready?
Brooklyn: Mhm.
You: Go.
You both take off in opposite directions, toward doors at different ends of the room.
Herakles: HAHA! Slither little snakes! Slither away as fast as you can! I WILL CATCH YOU!
Snakes. You didn't betray him. You were prisoners, held against your will. He was the best out of the bunch, but that's not saying much. He taught you a lot, but who fucking cares. He'll die today because, ultimately, he stands between you and your daughter. You'll be damned if you die today and miss the opportunity to see her again.
You take a hard right once you exit the doors. You're in a hallway, a grand one at that.
Brooklyn: Y/N!
You look behind you as you run in the opposite direction of her.
Brooklyn: I'll meet you where we hid the bag!
She turns around a corner and disappears. Splitting up worries you, but if you ran together, you would surely be overwhelmed and lose.
There's a slam behind you, and you jump through a doorway on your left.
Herakles: I WILL FIND YOU! YOU CAN NOT HIDE FROM ME! I'VE WAITED TOO LONG TO WATCH YOU SUFFER!
You peek out only a little and look. He's going in Brooklyn's direction.
You: Damn it.
You were hoping he came in your direction. You don't want her to deal with him alone. You know she'll fight him instead of running.
You turn the corner, planning to run after him and her, but are met with waves and waves of people.
You: Fuck.
They pour through the doors, out of halls, ready to capture whoever they can. You don't have time to count how many there are. You just know that there are a lot. It reminds you of Sebastian's group when Marina got herself cornered. There were too many of them to fight, all with one goal: capture.
Someone yells something in a language you don't understand, spotting you quickly. It doesn't take long for them all to turn attention to you and come at you. They throw their rifles aside as they give chase so that they can grab you. You assume they're on strict orders to capture you and harm you as little as possible.
You fire three shots into the crowd before you need more ammo. You turn and run as you slip the magazine out of your pistol. You dig into one of your pockets, pull a new one out, and put it in. You don't usually reload your guns; there's very little time to in most situations.
You hold it behind you as you run and fire until it stops again. You're coming toward the end of the hall. You have to turn. Maybe you can lose them. No, you have to. You have to get back to Brooklyn as fast as you can.
You turn right through a door and close it behind you. The room is dark, so you feel around on the wall until you find a switch. The light comes on, and you're met with a massive kitchen. You grab a chair and push it under the door. How long will that hold? Three, maybe four seconds. That's three or four more seconds than you had.
You vault over a counter just as the first person reaches the door and tries to open it. You jump over another when the door flies open, and the chair falls over with a loud crash. It's bought you enough time to reach the other side of the room and exit.
Now's your chance to lose them. You run in the direction Brooklyn did and enter a new room. You don't bother turning the light on. You find the other exit before the door closes and leaves you in darkness. You had a clear path as long as you stuck to it. You collided with something with your hip but recovered quickly and kept going.
You pull the door open and lookout. They've almost entirely left this grand hallway, just a few lingering but not looking in your direction and occupied with watching elsewhere.
You start down the hall, slow at first to keep from being heard, picking up speed as you feel more and more confident until you're sprinting in the direction of Brooklyn.
You can hear her scream. He's found her, and her cry was one of pain.
You: Come on.
You turn a corner. You can hear Herakles laughing now. You turn another and hear him talking, monologuing. That'll be his last mistake. You approach the door his voice is coming from and slam into the room. His hand is around your throat the instant you're in, choking you.
Herakles: I heard you coming. HAHA!
He grabs you with his other hand, lifts you up, and slams you down on the concrete floor. Air escapes you, and you can't get any back in before the next hit comes. He stomps on your chest.
Herakles: That wasn't so hard. I taught you two better. HAHA!
