Lonely, cold, dark, black abyss. Floating alone, waiting for your eyes to snap back open. The void is unwelcoming. It doesn't want you here, and you don't want to be in it. You just want to see Marina.

Your eyes open. There's no wind, no sound, nothing moving, absolutely nothing is happening. It's like you're frozen in time. You're standing in a field, staring at a giant wall ahead of you. It's far enough away that no one would be able to notice you. You would look like a walker. Are walkers even a problem at this point?

You're no longer in pain. Your chest doesn't have that dull feeling in it anymore. Where Emma inserted that needle no longer hurts. It's like it never happened. You feel fine. Great, even.

You look down at your left arm. It's still intact; that's good. You look at your right arm; there's the watch. You hold it up to look at it. It hasn't started ticking yet. There are two thick, white lines in the center of it, and the background is green.

Emma: Y/N? Can you hear me?

You look to your left, where the voice is coming from.

You: Yeah. Although it's weird hearing a disembodied voice in my ear.

Emma: I'm talking to your body out here.

You: Makes sense. How am I talking to you?

Emma: Through speakers.

You: You said you were going to keep it muted.

Emma: I am. Usually, it's running too fast for it to matter, but right now, you are perceiving the passage of time just like us. It will be like that every time you or I pause it.

You: Ok. So, give me the rundown.

You look up at the sky. It's a clear day out. The sun shines down on you, creating heat, of course. But it... Isn't real heat? It feels pretty real to you.

Emma: Look at your watch again.

You do.

Emma: The two white lines mean the simulation is paused.

You: Ok.

Emma: If you double-tap it, you can unpause everything. Double-tap it while everything is moving, and it will pause again.

You: Got it.

Emma: Can you unpause it for me?

You double-tap the watch. A triangle pointing to the right shows up and then disappears after a few seconds. The wind is cool, the sound of birds chirping fills the air, the smell of death still wreaks havoc on the world. You double-tap the watch again, and everything stops.

Emma: Easy enough.

You: That didn't take time away, right?

Emma: It did not.

You: Good.

Emma: Now, the watch is green correct?

You: Correct.

Emma: Press and hold on it.

You hold your finger on the screen until the green turns to red.

Emma: That is your invulnerability. When it's green, you can not be harmed. When it is red, you can.

You: Ok, so keep it green.

Emma: Yes.

You press, hold, the watch turns green.

Emma: You'll have some increased strength in this state as well.

You: Why?

Emma: Admin capabilities were made so if someone needed to go in to fix something, they can do whatever they want.
