3rd Person P.O.V.
Howard is doing push ups while reading a book about Gemology (Gemology is biology for gems). It's difficult to read properly while going up and down, but Howard has to deal with it. He's at page 147, reading about how long a gem can last while they're is cracked.
Phoebe walks in on him doing that.
(Phoebe) What are you doing?
(Howard) I slept in so I gotta catch up on academics while workin' out.
He finally stops to catch his breath while reading more. He sits with his legs crossed.
(Phoebe) You've been doing this for 11 days now. Don't you want a break?
(Howard) I do, but I gotta do this. Who knows when Dominator's coming? I gotta be ready.
(Phoebe) We're all ready, but the rest of us are trying to enjoy the peace at the moment.
(Howard) I'd really like to relax, but I gotta get my body into shape. I have to be strong.
(Phoebe) Well, if that's the case, I should work out with you, too.
(Howard) You don't got to.
(Phoebe) Why?
(Howard) 'Cause... um... How should I say this? You already have an athletic body. Because you've been alive for almost a month now, and you still should look like the way you did a few days before you died. Though, I never seen you since over 12 years ago. And Steven said you and him practiced and spar till a few day before your death. So, you probaby most likely looked good before you died, I mean, was in shape before you passed.
(Phoebe) (chuckles) Glad to know I still look good in my thirties.
(Howard) Anyways, point is; you've already got the training done and I haven't.
He continued to read more, processing everything the book says into his head. He hasn't studied this hard since the SATs in High School. But now, he has to be prepared for anything Lord Dominator could do.
Maybe fighting a conqueror is easier than taking a difficult test.
(Phoebe) Where did you get that book?
(Howard) From the library at Little Homeworld. I can't believe they got books. Written in English. Gem language is so hard to learn.
She looks over to see three more books. One is about Gem History, the second is about Homeworld Technology, and the third is Gem Authority.
(Phoebe) Are all the information neccessary?
(Howard) Kinda. Gemology helps me learn about gems more. Gem History fills me in on any context I missed for over 8,000 years.
(Phoebe) Didn't Steven already tell you about Gem History?
(Howard) Only the parts he's in. The Diamonds wrote it. Heh, they really made Steven look like their knight in shining armor.
(Phoebe) Okay, resume your reasons for the books.
(Howard) Gem Authority is to help me know whose in charge if I ever encounter a squadron. And Homeworld Technology helps me understand how things work.
(Phoebe) You're really committed to this, aren't you?
(Howard) Of course, I got to.
(Phoebe) You should take a break.
(Howard) Thanks, but no thanks. Sorry, I have to catch up.
She took his book, and the other books.
