Chapter 1447: Practice/ Date Night

Not long after falling asleep Madison woke up not feeling Kris beside her.    She sits up looking around for him.    She didn't hear the water running so that ruled out him being in the shower.   She gets up and that was when she noticed the balcony doors were ajar.    She gets up throwing on her robe and slippers.   She then heads out  and sure enough he was sitting on the swing by the fire.    Madison goes and sits down beside him.

"A penny for your thoughts?" Madison asks.

"Sorry baby, I couldn't sleep and I didn't want to wake you tossing and turning so I came out here." Kris says.

"It's okay baby.   But you know that I can't sleep without you by my side." Madison says.

"I know baby." Kris says pulling her close kissing her head.

"So what is troubling you?" Madison asks.

"We lost Dumo another defensemen how can we keep playing and rally against that?" Kris asks.

"The same way you guys rallied last season with so many injuries.." Madison says.

"I don't know." Kris replies.

Madison lays her head on his shoulder.   She puts her hand over his heart.   

"There's a hero

"I love your voice baby." Kris says.

"Listen to those words baby.   You are a hero.   A hero to the city of Pittsburgh, a hero to your teammates, a hero to our kids and a hero to me." Madison says.

"I don't feel like no hero." Kris says.

"You are baby.   You are strong and kind and lord knows you are stubborn as a mule.   But you are also determined.   I mean you didn't let a stroke or neck injury that required surgery stop you from chasing your dreams.    And look you are the franchise defensemen baby and you overcame so much to get there." Madison says.

"I did." Kris says.

"Damn right you did baby and you should be damn proud of that." Madison says.

"Thanks baby." Kris says.

"For what?" Madison asks.

"For believing in me.   Never giving up on me and for loving me unconditionally." Kris says.

"Always baby.   The Queen always has her Kings back." Madison says.

"Come on baby let's go back inside its getting cold out here." Kris says.
