It was the seventh inning. Two outs, two strikes. Up by one point, Clay is getting ready for his pitch. He looks over to his coach, who gives him the curveball hand signal. A pitch Clay hasn't done all game. All he has to do is throw a strike and they win.
Clay pulls his arm back. He steps, and throws the perfect pitch. Right inside the box, the batter swings, but misses.
"STRIKE!" yells the umpire. The crowd irrupts in cheer.
All of his teammates run up to Clay and cheer him on.
"YES CLAY!"
"WE DID IT!"
"WE JUST BEAT THE BEST TEAM!"
Out of the whole team, Clay locks eyes with George, who has a crazy wide grin on his face. Although they couldn't have won without everyone, Clay and George were the best players on the team.
They all quickly run to the dugout to get some water and talk with the coach.
"Nice job, Dreamy." complements George.
Clay rolls his eyes. "Thanks. Couldn't have done it without you."
"Alright. Nice game everybody! Let's meet at the school at 5 o'clock sharp. We'll take a bus out to get pizza to celebrate this big win! On me! Don't be late or the bus leaves without you!" yells the excited coach.
The team consisted of 13 players. Clay, George, Karl, Alex, Sapnap, Fundy, Tommy, Toby, Technoblade, Wilbur, Sam, Ranboo, and Luke.
Most players have a nickname of some sort. Clay goes by Dream, George goes by Gogy, Alex as Quackity, , Toby as Tubbo, Sam as Awesamdude, and Luke as Punz.
"Alright Clay, let's get going." George says to Clay.
Their parents are out of town for vacation, so George picked up Clay and brought him to the game.
As they're in the truck, Clay can't help but constantly glance at George. With the grin that wouldn't leave his mouth, who wouldn't?
"Dude. I can't believe I actually pulled off that curve ball. I wasn't even warmed up for that, and it was perfect." Clay mentions in astonishment.
"I know, it was so epic." George replies happily.
George drives them straight to his house. Since Clay has a spare dresser at George's house, he can get ready there.
As George pulls up to the driveway, he has to ring the buzzer of his gate. He's let through immediately, and pulls his vehicle into the garage.
"Who's gonna shower first?" Clay asks the shorter, yet older teenager.
"We can just shower together," George smirks.
"I get to shower first just because you said that." Clay smiles and pushes George.
"Ugh fine."
Both boys walk inside, leaving their baseball equipment in the sports shed.
They run up to George's room, and Clay pulls out a pair of his grey sweats, some boxers, and a black t-shirt. He quickly runs to George's attached bathroom, turning on the shower. He slips out of his clothes and steps in.
