The boys were so invested into the show George picked, they didn't realize what time it was.
Soon enough, they heard a knock on George's door.
"Boys, dinner will be ready in a few short minutes. Please come downstairs." They heard George's mom's voice from the other side.
Although they definitely had enough money to hire more than one personal chef, George's mom enjoyed time in the kitchen.
When the teens got downstairs, they saw Clay's family sitting in the sitting area. Clay walked over to his mom and hugged her. Then, they all got up and walked to the dining room.
"Alright. I'm a little tired after today's flight, so I just made simple Chicken Alfredo. I hope nobody minds."
Everybody smiled and sat down. George's dad sat at one end of the table with Clay's dad on the other side. George's mom sat diagonal to her husband with George across from her. Clay sat next to George with his sister across from him. His brother and mom sat how George and his mom were sitting.
They dished up their food and started eating. The kids mostly stayed quiet while the parents made small talk. Well, small talk for them. They talked about more trips to come, housing, servants, and all that rich stuff.
Clay was feeling a little touchy, you could say, so while they were eating, he placed his hand on George's thigh.
George widened his eyes and shot his head to look at Clay. Clay just smirked and George blushed.
Both boys returned to eating, Clay's hand staying in place.
"So, boys. Anything interesting happening in your lives right now?" Clay's dad asks.
"Not really. Pretty much just focusing on baseball. Tomorrow's practice we are going to be talking about where the game is going to be and when we need to leave." George responds.
Clay nods his head in agreement and his dad nods his head in understanding. Soon enough, the teens finished eating.
"Thanks for the food, Mum. It was appreciated." George thanks his mom as he stands up.
"Thank you, as well." Clay stands up after George. They head up to George's room.
As soon as they get to George's room, George speaks.
"You can't do that!"
"Why not?" Clay acts innocent.
"What do you mean 'why not?' We were in front of our parents and your siblings!" George raises his voice a bit. "They could've saw."
"But they didn't. I'm sorry. If I knew you were going to get so worked up about it, I wouldn't have done it." Clay apologizes.
"I liked it, it made me feel comforted. But please don't do it in front of them." George says as he sits on his bed. Clay sits next to him.
Since Clay was still being all touchy, he places his hand on George's thigh again.
"Well if it makes you feel comforted, you wouldn't mind me doing it now, right?"
George shook his head "no". He leans onto his best friend's shoulder.
"Is your head feeling better?"
"Mhm." George hums. "Can I tell you something?"
"Yeah, what is it?" Clay asks while looking down at the boy on his shoulder.
