Chapter 24
Party
Mart twisted his lips while looking at my sketch. I smirked.
"Pangit ba?"
He glared at me. "When did you ever sketch an ugly one, huh?" he said but when he returned his gaze on the sketch, he sighed.
"Ang tanging bumabagabag lang sa akin... Why evergreen? Besides, it's still October.
I glared at him." I know that you're stupid but I didn't know that you're stupidity has no limit.
Umakto naman siyang nasaktan. "Grabe ka naman makapagsalita."
I smirked at him. "You don't know the meaning of evergreen, stupid." I chuckled.
Kumunot ang noo niya. "Mukha ba akong tanim, Nella? Bakit? Ano ba ang ibig sabihin niyan?"
Evergreen trees lose their leaves individually on an ongoing basis, rather than losing all of them in a short period of time. That's according to google actually. I chuckled on my mind. "Find it out yourself."
"Ang damot nito!" inilabas niya ang kanyang telepono.
I headed to the studio to leave my sketch there.
Naabutan ko si Lola Polly don. Nagchecheck ng iba pang artworks.
She smiled at me. I'm still intimidated by that smile but not as intimidated as before.
I smiled shyly. She cleared her throat. "I have something to tell you, apo."
She sighed heavily and put down the canvas she's holding.
"You're family... Will be there, at the event." she looked at me intently, tinatansya ang reaksyon ko.
Pero hindi ako makatingin sa kanya. "Lola..."
She held my hand. "Nella... Don't you want to see them?"
"Nakita ko na po sila-"
"Have they seen you? Nella, let's be honest, okay? Why don't you see them?"
"I-I don't want to bother them, Lola. They're already happy." I immediately wiped the fucking tear that managed to escape my eye.
I'm sure that the're looking for you."
Mapait akong ngumiti. "Natatakot ako, La."
Her forehead creased. But she laughed after that.
She's back on serious mode now. She made me lean on her shoulder. "I know that you're much better with your family, Nella."
Nanginig ang mga labi ko. "They've failed me, Lola. No. I f-failed them."humikibi ako.
"Ouch, Lola!" my voice is stil hoarse.
"I bet that if they hear that from you, you'll receive a slap."
Bumuntong hininga ako. "Scared."
"The final decision is still on you. If you don't want them there, tell me. And don't plan on not attending it." she gave me a deadly glare.
"Can you give me time, Lola? I don't want them to see me yet."
"I'm afraid about that time you're asking. I know it'll take years."
Natawa ako pero agad ding nagseryoso. "I'll go, Lola. They will too. But they'll not see me."
Her eyes sparkled. "Of course, darling! I'm glad that's you're decision."
I am wearing a black evening gown covered with a hooded cloak.
Yes, I am in disguise. I chuckled inside my mind despite of the nervousness I'm feeling.
I sighed on my head when I saw Mart walking towards my way.
"Wine?" iniabot niya sa akin ang wineglass.
I didn't move nor speak. The screw on his head really needs to be tightened.
Mahina siyang natawa.
His laughter caused many reporters to flock on us.
Damn this fucking man.
"May I know who's this waitress Mr. Repozar?"
One reporter came to me. Oh fuck. "May I ask who are you and who bought that stilettos, Miss?"
Mart was about to talk garbage when all of them left and flocked another group of people.
"I'll go." I didn't wait for his reply.
She instantly nodded. "Would you like to see Madame, Miss?"
Umiling ako at itinuro ang washroom.
She nodded again and handed me my pouch. I locked the door as soon as we got inside.
"Do you need help,Miss?" she asked.
"I'll tell you if you're needed." I smiled coldly.
I wore the blue contact lenses. I did not moved my make up. It's enough.
Inilahad ko ang pouch sa manager. "Please unlock the door."
The door opened as soon as I entered the cubicle. I heard footsteps already.
My eyes instantly widened when I heared who's voice is it. Deila! Tears started pooling in my eyes. Fuck it!
"You are so red Klere!" this time I heard Yra's laugh.
Kaye Leri? Sinong Kaye Leri? Naalerto ako nang magring ang telepono ko.
Shit! It's on the sink!
"K-Kaninong telepono to?" ani ng isang mala anghel na boses.
Fuck! They won't recognize me. I blew a loud breath before unlocking the door and opening it.
"Is this yours, Miss?" she's probably Klere.
