Weak

Lumabas na kaming lahat sa sasakyan. Hawak ni Xy ang kamay ko, pinisil pisil niya yon.

"We're here..." I stated slowly, feeling the fast beating of my heart.

"May dala akong nebulizer kung sakaling hindi kayanin ng baga mo ang nerbyos, Nell," ani Deila, sinubukang pagaanin ang hangin.

I did nothing but sigh. "Let's go." I pulled Xy's hand.

"Wait!" si Deila uli. "Sure ka na ba? Parang ako ang hihimatayin dito." nagsign of the cross siya.

"Same." Yra, Lyeanne and Celin sighed too.

Kumunot ang noo ni Dale. "Teka lang... Sa pagkakatanda ko ay hindi kasama si Celin nang pumunta tayo dito noon." wala naman talaga si Celin noon. Isinama ko lang ngayon.

I sighed and shooked my head. They're just trying to keep me from climbing the mountain. "Let's just go..." naglakad na ako papunta sa paanan ng bukid.

Dahil nga magkahawak kami ni Xy ay nahila ko rin siya. Narinig ko ang buntong hininga nila sa likod.

Xy kissed my forehead. "They're just worried. Like I am."

Umiling ako. That worry will just keep me from being free from the past. Bago pa matapos ang araw na'to ay gusto kong nakawala na ako galing doon. I am not guilty and scared as I am before but there's still a space in me that is a bit terrified because of what happened years ago.

Dalawang oras na kaming naglalakad pero hindi parin kami nakakarating sa aming destinasyon. Pero alam kong malapit na...

"Let's eat first," I muttered as I stopped my feet. They did the same too.

"Here," inilabas ni Lyeanne ang baon naming ulam. Most of it was from Tita Sianna's birthday yesterday.

"What are your plans?" tanong ni Yra habang inaabot sa akin ang kanin. Kinuha yon ni Xy at siya na ang naglagay sa plato ko.

"I'll visit the exact spots...where that incident happen." marahan kong sagot.

"Sigurado ka na ba talagang kaya mo, Nella? We could comeback any other day," si Jiran.

"Just trust me. It took me years just to get over even a bit of what happened. I don't want another year or so just to completely get over it."

"Did you visit any psychiatrist, while you were abroad?" maingat na tanong ni Yra.

I shooked my head. I was very scared to do that.

Namilog ang mga mata niya. "Then... paano mo nalagpasan?"

I'll never forget that day. "When Xy and I met again."

Hindi ko siya pinahintulutang magpaliwanag noon, kung ano ba talaga ang nangyari... Pero nang matapos kaming magkita ay nakwestyon ko ang sarili kung napatawad niya ba talaga ako? O talagang gaya ng sabi niya ay sila talaga ang may...kasalanan... Because if I were him, I wouldn't approach or treat him like that if I haven't forgiven him yet... or there's really something behind what happened. I imagined having a sister and if she'll be abducted because of someone.... I won't ever forgive.

As time goes by after that... puzzle pieces appeared was planted on my head. It remained that way, until I finally learned about the truth.

"Yeah... And the asshole never told us." masama ang tingin ni Yohan kay Xy. Sinang ayunan naman ng iba ang sinabi niya.

"What the fuck? Do you think we'll have a chance to see her if I told all of you, Yohan? Ilang buwan ang hinintay ko! Pumayag lang na makipagkita ang pinsan mo! And even after that, do you think it was easy, huh? Pahirapan pa nga kahit sa paglapit lang sa kanya!"

"What?" Yohan chuckled with no humor. "Ikaw pa ang lugi niyan? Architect Reyes, we didn't even know if she was alive that time! And now you act like that, you fucker? Tangina palit kaya tayo, tingnan natin kung hindi iinit pati pwet mo sa galit."

Umiling ako. "I'm here to let go of the past,not remember it." natahimik sila.

As planned, we visited the exact spots where all of it happened. It gave me chills and I can't help but to check if someone's there aside from us from time to time.

I remembered the night before we came here. When we attended Tita Sianna's birthday.

I wore a silver asymmetrical gown accompanied by a pair of earrings and white pouch. Xy offered to fetch me earlier and I immediately declined him. Sobrang lapit lang naman, pwede ngang lakarin eh.

Tunog at kislap ng mga nagraramihang camera and sumalubong pagbaba namin ng sasakyan. We proceeded to the red carpet to take some photos.

My feet brought me to their grand hall afterwards. There, I saw Tita Sianna at the center entertaining her guests. My eyes passed through her, and stopped at the person who's behind her.

Hindi ko mapigilan ang ngiti kasabay ng pagbilis ng puso ko habang tinatanaw siya. He's wearing a formal suit that complements the whole of him. I love you, Architect.

His eyes nailed on my right shoulder. Halos matawa ako. What the hell?

Nangingiti akong naglakad papunta sa kanya pero natigil yon nang humarap sa akin si Tita Sianna. Pati ang mga kausap niya ay napabaling rin.

"Nella, dear." bumeso siya sa akin bago ako yinakap. I hugged her back. Hindi parin talaga kumukupas ang ganda niya.

"Happy Birthday Tita!" ngumiti ako sa kanya. Ilang sandali lang ay naramdaman ko na ang coat ni Xy sa balikat ko at ang paghigit niya sa baywang ko.

Tita smiled at us before thanking me. "How are you two?" she asked, smiling.

"We're good, Tita. Ikaw po?"

Our topic was diverted to the upcoming wedding then.

Pagkatapos ay umakyat kaming dalawa sa rooftop. Nakatukod siya ngayon ng patalikod sa barandilya habang ako ay nakaharap. Tumingala ako sa madilim at parang walang katapusang kalangitan. Nakakalula talaga.

I shut my eyes when I felt a drop of water. "Come on." Xy pulled my hand.

Sumilong kami sa may bubong na parte ng rooftop. Napapikit ako nang may umilaw na kidlat.

"Let's go downstairs," Xy said before pulling my hand again.

Umiling ako. "Gusto kong panoorin."

"Nella..." he warned.

"Sige na kasi! Natatakot ka ba sa kidlat?" pinandilatan ko siya.

He glared at me. "I am worried because you are afraid." he corrected.

"Gusto ko ngang panoorin. Nandyan ka naman eh." pakiramdam ko kasi wala namang mangyayaring masama dahil nandito nga siya sa tabi ko.

The rain poured more. I flinched as I saw one  bolt of lightning lighten the dark sky. Napayakap ako kay Xy habang hinihintay na kumulog.

Napamura siya. "Sinabing tayo na!" dumagundong  ang boses niya kasabay ng kulog.

I shooked my head as I waited for the thunder to pass. "This scene is literally a breathtaking one. It is very fascinating to watch the sky's anger, but damn scary at the same time. And it will really take your breath away if you have a weak heart."

Hinalikan ni Xy ang labi ko. Ngayon ay parang kumalma na siya. "Do you have a weak heart, then?"

I shooked my head. "I think, no," I confidently stated.

Masuyo niya akong pinakatitigan bago uli hinalikan.

"I have one,when it comes to you." he whispered hoarsely.
