minho was not sure what to do with han jisung.

he hated lying, so he had told him the truth, but not elaborated any further. jisung had accepted this, thankfully.

he had laughed at his joke. it was such a stupid joke, but the sheer absurdity of the situation had bubbled up a glee he did not know he had in him.

when he walked out of the kitchen, chan had looked at him incredulously before entering the kitchen himself, where jisung was still leaning against the fridge.

he contemplated eavesdropping, but before he could decide on his morals seungmin called him over.

'you're here by foot, right?'

'yep.'

'cool. i'm walking with you.'

and so they did. they mainly discussed music and their uneventful love lives. a tragic sight.

when minho came home, he didn't feel like sleeping just yet. he wasn't up for another nightmare. an irrational thought, as this was how it went every evening. he slept way too little and could sometimes barely drag himself to school, so it was a big issue.

knowing it was a mistake did not keep him from refusing to sleep anyways. for now he was content playing videogames. even if it meant seeing chan's worrying eyes the following day.

as usual, minho awoke to the sound of his alarm, beaded with sweat. after much effort to convince himself, he climbed out of bed and took a quick shower.
he got dressed, collected his books, grabbed a cracker and left the house.

seungmin and jeongin were already waiting for him. minho made no effort to join in on their conversation as they walked to school, lagging behind and yawning every few seconds. soon enough they arrived at the front gates of their school.

only once in a while did someone have a class with another member of the group. and so minho sat alone through his classes.

'can i sit here?' he looked up from his daze. of course it was han jisung. he sighed and nodded briefly, hoping he wouldn't ask questions. he tried to focus on english, but the obviously staring presence next to him made this hard.

'how are you doing after-'

'i'm fine, thanks.'

'are you sure? because-'

'yes, i am sure.'

jisung pressed his lips together. it was clear that they were not going to talk more about this. they awkwardly sat through the class, unable to focus.

after what felt like forever, the bell rang and they walked to the cafeteria together, where their friends were seated as well.

'what do you like to do in your free time?' jisung suddenly asked.

minho thought about the question. 'i like basic stuff. listening to music, watching netflix, playing football, dancing.'

'dancing?'

'yeah.'

'nice.'

silence followed, though the halls were loud.

'i like writing.'

didn't ask. 'writing? what do you like to write?'

'hmm.. poetry, mainly. but it's bad. i like to read it more, i guess.'

'nice.'

needless to say, it was incredibly awkward. they were both glad to find themselves in the cafeteria.

the rest of the day was as boring as ever. he walked home with chan, who had invited him over. he wanted to know how minho was doing.

'i'm fine, what about you?'
(a/n: i'm fine thank you and you?)

chan nodded. 'me too. but minho, you know what i mean. fine isn't telling me anything.'

minho stayed silent. he knew exactly what chan was trying to get at, but he didn't feel like talking. not that he ever did.

chan sighed. 'are you at least feeling better than.. at first.'

'i don't know. probably.' he had scared chan pretty bad, and he felt guilty, so he did try to answer his questions properly.

'probably. okay. is there anything i can do?'

minho shrugged. 'just be there, i guess.' chan patted his shoulder. 'of course, mate.'

and that was all he needed to know for now. they played videogames all afternoon, not bothering to do homework for the next day.

in the evening, the others came as well. they hung out quite a lot, honestly.

felix suggested they play just dance. impractical, considering they were with eight and you could only play with four, but this just meant that four people could sit and watch. peak comedy. minho let the others play a lot, until hyunjin forced him up. 'come on, your turn.'

minho beat them all. hitting the highscore on first try left him grinning from ear to ear.
he was happy to show off one of the few things he was good at.

jisung approached him later on. 'hey hyung.'

'hi.'

'you know, you're really good at dancing.'

he nodded. 'thank you.'

'maybe- maybe you could teach me sometime?'

minho craned out his neck to watch seungmin dance. oh how he wished he could film that. he admired his determination, though.

he looked at jisung now. 'i'll think about it.'

jisung could do with that, eyes shining. minho didn't really care.

the rest of the evening was spent talking and playing other games.

minho and seungmin had become walking buddies by now. he wasn't even sure if seungmin liked him, but if he didn't show it, then it wasn't his problem.

'you danced really funny.'

'is that a compliment? because i will take it.'

'no. but i really wanted to film it.'

seungmin pouted. 'you should have.'

'i would, but jisung was trying to talk to me.'

he hummed. 'what do you think of jisung?'

'i don't.'

seungmin snorted and dropped the subject.

'i think i'm developing a crush.' he said a few seconds later.

minho raised an eyebrow. 'on jisung?'

'no.'

'then who?'

'not telling you.'

'it's not me, is it?'

seungmin actually started laughing at that, shaking his head. 'no, not you.'

'then why can't i know?'

he eyed him. 'because i'm not sure yet.'
