he broke the kiss and opened his eyes, meeting those of hyunjin's. a smile tugged at the corner of minho's lips. hyunjin breathed out slowly, seeming to be a bit in shock. then he put a hand over his mouth and started giggling.
minho looked around the room, the others were staring at them in stunned silence. he was quick on his feet and bowed for the group of friends. then he hastily returned to his spot across the room, happy to get out of the spotlight.

jeongin couldn't help but ask. 'well? was it good?'

'well i mean, hyunjin is giggling and minho is ... is he blushing?'

minho flipped his middle finger at changbin, who was trying to see if he was, in fact, blushing.

'yes... hyung is a surprisingly good kisser,' hyunjin laughed.

'what you mean surprisingly?!' he laughed quietly until he noticed seungmin's somewhat sour expression. minho made a mental note to ask about it later.

'didn't know it was that easy to kiss minho hyung, i've been wanting to for ages!' changbin's head shot up and minho glared at felix as he said those words.

'all you have to do is ask, baby. though i think changbin would beat me up for it,' he snorted. felix looked confused, completely oblivious to changbin's stares, who now started stuttering under their gaze.

eventually, chan felt sorry for him and stood up, drawing the attention to himself. 'anyone want more snacks?'

and that was that, they continued the game.

'jeongin, crack an egg on your head.' he did, and they couldn't stop laughing for five minutes before starting again.

'seungmin, show us the last picture on your camera roll.' it was a picture of a dog, chan made sure that he sent it to the groupchat.

'chan, let everyone tickle you for a full minute.' his hysterical screams gave everyone hearing damage.

and so on. while changbin tried doing a cartwheel, minho got a drink. when he returned, jisung had just answered a question. he had heard neither the question nor the answer.

'minho, truth or dare.'

'truth.'

'when was the last time you cried, and why?'

he raised his eyebrows. it's been a while. 'that's two questions.'

jisung just shrugged, curious to know his answer.

'when my mother died, i think.'

no one was talking. 'wasn't that... isn't that like almost two years ago?' chan asked.

minho nodded. 'one year and eight months ago.'

jisung just looked at him sympathically. 'stop looking at me like that,' minho snapped.

he pulled his mouth into a sad smile. 'that must have been hard.'

'what do you know?' minho asked harshly, though he could take a wild guess.

he sighed, looking down. 'both my parents are dead as well,' jisung revealed. a quietness fell over them for the second time that evening.

fuck.

minho couldn't imagine loosing both of them, even if his dad wasn't the best. he'd rather have him than no one at all.
so he did what he thought was right. he got up and gave jisung a hug, who didn't deny his arms and embraced him right back.

'i'm sorry,' minho mumbled into his neck.

'it's okay.'

as he went back to his place on the floor, he took the phone with him. 'hyunjin, truth or dare?'

minho walked home with seungmin. it was unlike him to be this quiet. and the road suddenly seemed to be awfully long.

'seungmin?'

'yes?' he sounded colder than usual.

'why were you looking so ... unhappy, earlier?'

'when?'

'when i kissed hyunjin.'

he turned to the older then. he looked rather conflicted. 'what do you think?'

what did he think? minho tried to remember all recent conversations he had with his friend. was it...?

oh.

'i guess you are sure of that crush, then?'

'i guess so.'

'i didn't know.' the pavement suddenly looked incredibly interesting. typical, kissing his friend's crush right in front of him.

'yeah... sorry for being so quiet, you couldn't know.'

he nodded briefly. he was glad seungmin wasn't mad at him. it would have been low-key ridiculous if he was mad.

minho arrived at home, and was thankful to see his dad sitting on the sofa. an irrational thought, he knew he would be there. he just hoped he would stay right there. as an only child, where would he go without him?

'hi.'

'hey, you had fun at chan's?'

'yeah, it was nice.'

'good, good. i'm leaving to sweden tomorrow, will you be alright?'

'yeah, sure.' his dad's work often required him to travel. he had been everywhere, and spoke many languages. it was quite a shame that he never bothered to teach minho any of that. his father truly was mr. worldwide.

but who did jisung come home to?

he decided to call him up.

'hello?'

'hi. i was wondering who you are living with right now.'

'hold on, who is this?'

he sighed. 'minho.'

'oh, hi? i live with my brother, why?'

'no reason. good night.' he hung up.
his heart was thundering in his chest, he hated phone calls. he could have just texted him. stupid.

minho looked back at the evening. he wasn't sure if felix and changbin even changed back their shirts. those absolute morons probably hadn't.
then, the kiss with hyunjin. an interesting event, but not very grand. he felt nothing, besides the giddiness of a good dare. seungmin could have him for all he cared.
honestly, he wasn't even sure if he liked guys. he had never really thought about it. he disregarded it as a problem for his future self. for now he was okay with whatever he and the girl from his dance class had going on.
he had also hugged jisung in front of everyone. ah, embarrassing, he would have to face them again tomorrow. he never really hugged any of them, apart from chan. but then, chan was different from the others. he knew, he couldn't keep him away. his friend could throw all of his secrets on the street if he ever cared to. minho knew he wouldn't, it was chan after all, but one could never be cautious enough.
