It was true. Jisung was tired. And as much as he wanted to be there to help his friend, he had to think of himself first.

So he did.

'Fine. Are you gonna study more tonight?'

Minho shrugged. 'Doubt it.'

Jisung gave him a look. 'You can do it! If you need help you can just call me.'

'I'll try my best, okay?' They walked to the door together. His best was all he wanted from him, all he could ever ask for.

'Okay.' He smiled.

Jisung moved to leave when Minho grabbed his wrist. He seemed to be at a loss of words, though, when he faced him again.

'I.. I'm sorry for the trouble I caused you, but- Thank you. Really.'

And he meant it. Jisung could see the sincerity in his eyes as he looked at him.

'You've been no trouble, Minho. It has been a pleasure.' He gave him a broad smile before gently removing his hand from his wrist, squeezing it once in the process. Minho just watched it happen.

God he's so cute.

And then he left. He didn't hear from Minho all evening, but he hoped he was doing okay without him.

He went to bed early, and wondered to himself when he had become so awfully responsible.

Their exams took place in the school's gym, so a lot of students could fit in. Everyone looked either tired or nervous, even his best friends. He spotted Felix sitting on the other side of the room and waved at him. Felix grinned and waved back. 'Good luck,' he mouthed.

And so their first exam began.

He honestly didn't think he did so bad. But right now, he only cared about how Minho's exam went. As soon as they were allowed to leave the room, he went over to him.

'And?'

His eyes were filled with doubt. 'I don't know.'

'Well, at least it didn't go bad.'

'It might have.'

Jisung smiled and patted his shoulder. 'Always look at it from the bright side.'

'You can't be disappointed if you didn't expect anything in the first place.'

He rolled his eyes. 'Pessimist.'

They walked towards the door together.

'Optimist,' Minho said. Jisung shoved him lightly, the other almost tripping over his feet.

'Realist!' Hyunjin jumped in between the two, draping his arms around both of their shoulders. 'Realistically speaking, I did great.'

Jisung snorted. 'Good for you, mate.'

Hyunjin just grinned at him, before spotting his boyfriend from across the hall. 'Hey Seungmin!' He pronounced the name funny, before sprinting off cackling.

Minho just shook his head. 'Idiot.'

'Yeah, for sure,' he laughed. 'You wanna study this afternoon, or..?'

'No, that's okay. You deserve some rest.'

'Are you sure? Because it's really no-'

'I'll manage, Sungie. We can study together tomorrow, though, if you want?'

'I- Yes. Yes, good idea.'

He wasn't sure if he had heard him correctly. Did Minho just call him Sungie? Holy shit.

He went home to study, but this time he was the one who couldn't focus. His mind kept wandering off to Minho. To his eyes, his laugh, his lips.

Jesus Christ.

They studied the day after, though. And the day after that. And the day after that. And while the days might have been repetitive and slow, they were never boring. Every time, Jisung fell more and more in love with Lee Minho. Delicately, like syrup flowing down pancakes. Like chocolate over strawberries.

And the exams just went on. At least one each day, and at the end of the week they were finally done.

Jisung put his pen down as the bell rang. He leaned back in the cheap and creaking chair -not too enthusiastic, of course- and let a broad grin fall over his face.

As soon as everyone was outside, the whole class started cheering. Even Minho was smiling to himself.

The eight friends concluded that they really deserved a burger, and found themselves a local fast food restaurant. A waitress took their order and it all arrived surprisingly quickly.

'You know what we should do?' Changbin said, as he held a hand in front of his still full mouth.

'Learn to stop talking when there's still food in your mouth? Yeah, we should.' Minho nodded. Changbin just glared at him before continuing.

'We should celebrate by drinking.'

Jisung scrunched his nose at the thought, but the others loved the idea. Everyone wanted to get drunk. It was okay, he could stay sober.

'When, though? I mean it's holiday, but..?'

'Who is even going on holiday?'

Minho, Seungmin and Jeongin raised their hands.

Hyunjin pouted. 'I have to go a week without you?' He asked his boyfriend, wrapping his arms around him.

'I'll be back on Friday, don't worry,' Seungmin murmured, before placing a kiss on the other's nose. Jisung smiled at the cute sight.

'Shit. Okay, uhm, I guess the Saturday after the holiday, then?'

They all agreed.

The next day, their results would be published online. Jisung, however, was barely aware of this. He figured they would get them somewhere soon, but wasn't sure when exactly that would be. That was, at least, until he got a phone call, flashing Minho's name in big letters.

'Hey.'

'Hey, could you meet me at the park right now?'

Jisung could hear it was urgent, but didn't know if that meant positive or negative news.

He frowned. 'Now? Uh, sure, let me just.. find my shoes..' He scratched his head as he looked around the room.

'I'll be there in five.' He hung up. The fuck?

He decided flipflops would have to do and made his way to the park. As he didn't know what was up, he wanted to be there as quickly as possible.

He spotted Minho before he spotted him. He parked his bike against a fence and walked up to him, awkwardly waving in the process. The movement caught the older's attention and he practically jumped up to greet him.

'The exam results have been published.' A wide smile was plastered on his face.

Jisung's eyes widened. He hadn't even seen it.

'And?' He asked eagerly, though the bright smile kind of already gave it away.

'They're good,' Minho said. He probably couldn't even believe it himself.

Jisung laughed and threw his arms up cheering. 'That's amazing!'

Only a moment of hesitation could be seen before Minho wrapped his arms around Jisung, who still had his arms up in the air. Jisung froze in surprise and Minho pulled back when he noticed.

'Sorry.'

'No,' Jisung frowned. 'You just caught me by surprise,' he said as he hugged Minho again.

The other relaxed in his grip. His embrace was light, but comforting. He wished he could hug him like this every day. Oh, how he wished.
