Jisung wondered if he had done something wrong.
It had been two days of painful ignorance after the poetry search on Monday. He hadn't had any more classes with Minho, but for some reason he had expected him to be a little more friendly now that they were partners.
He had never been more wrong. Minho only gave him short replies in the cafeteria, sending him a clear message to piss off. So that's what Jisung did. He hadn't bothered trying to interact with him anymore. That was, at least, until they had English class together again. They dutifully sat next to each other, quietly listening to their teacher explaining some kind of grammar. Jisung was pretty good at English, even if he had to say so himself, and with one glance at the presentation he knew he didn't have to pay attention. He looked sideways, but Minho wasn't exactly listening either.
'Why did you ignore me hyung?'
'What?'
'I thought, after Monday, maybe we could be friends. But then you ignored me for two days straight.'
Minho just stared at him, making Jisung avert his eyes. Could he stop looking like he wanted to strangle him right there?
'Forget it,' Jisung mumbled. He turned his head towards the teacher, pretending to pay attention to whatever she was saying. It seemed to work, Minho didn't say anything. That was probably his aim anyways.
Somehow there were a lot of questions about the grammar they just discussed, and they didn't get any time to work on their project in class. Good. He wasn't exactly excited to work with his partner.
After school he went to the store with Hyunjin. They would all be hanging out tonight, and Jisung and him were up for snack duty. Together, they bought quite some food, also some to eat right there.
'Seungmin has been acting really strange this week. Did you notice? I feel like it was just towards me. He was staring at me, but when I talked to him he didn't even look me in the eye. He's mumbling a lot as well. Don't know what's up with him.'
Jisung raised his eyebrows. 'You two as well? Felix and Changbin were also being weird this weekend.'
'But I'm not being weird! It's just him.'
'Yeah, yeah. Same thing. Maybe he's just into you,' Jisung shrugged.
Hyunjin looked at him, flabbergasted. 'Seungmin? Into me? Doubt it.'
'It's possible! I mean, isn't that what people do when they're crushing on someone, being all shy and stuff? I don't know.'
'That would be awkward. My God, what if he does? What am I supposed to do then?'
Jisung laughed at Hyunjin's panicked face. 'What do I know? Do you like him back?'
He had to think about that. He was mumbling something about how Seungmin was kinda cute, but he had never considered it before. He would have to figure it out.
Jisung pressed his hand against his heart and sighed dramatically. 'Ah, young love. I remember when I was your age...-'
'Oh shut up, I'm older than you!'
For the second time that week, Hyunjin shoved him off the pavement.
They each went their own way home, planning to meet up two hours later to walk to Chan together. There wasn't much to do at home. Jisung did some homework, cooked dinner and wrote down a few words for himself.
Ignorant, blatant fool,
When will you see me?
Don't look to closely,
I don't want to make you drool. He wondered if Minho would be there as well, that evening. Despite his pathetic behaviour, he secretly hoped so.
After a while, he heard the doorbell ring and he said good-bye to his brother, who was busy playing videogames. Hyunjin was standing at the front door, Felix and Changbin right behind him. 'I ran into them halfway.'
As they were walking to Chan's house, Jisung struck up a conversation with Felix.
'And? Did you and Changbin talk?'
Felix hesitated. 'Not exactly. When we saw each other at school... We just pretended everything was fine, that nothing had happened. And now everything is fine.'
'So you're not gonna discuss it with him?'
He looked at him with troubled eyes. 'Probably not.'
Jisung shook his head, but it wasn't really his problem to deal with.
At Chan's place, they did the usual. They hung out and played a movie while eating their snacks and drinking a little. Some drank a little too much. They found very crooked darts and started violently throwing them at a dartboard, until Chan took them away because it was getting dangerous. Changbin and Hyunjin just laughed it off.
After a while, the boys were all sitting back on and around the couches, thinking about what to do next. Jisung wondered if this was how it always went.
Just then, Felix decided the most cliché game ever was a brilliant idea. You can guess it, Truth or Dare.Half of the group groaned, while the other half cheered. Secretly, they were all up for some excitement, so they did play eventually.
However, soon enough they found out that they were not good at making up questions. They decided to use a random app they found, in case someone couldn't think if something to ask, because no one really cared where you would go if you could go anywhere.'Felix, Truth or Dare?'
'Dare.'
Chan tapped on the phone. 'Exchange shirts with ... Changbin.'
They both shrugged and took off their shirts. Everyone started whistling and cheering at that, making Felix and Changbin go all red. They quickly put on each others shirts and Chan passed the phone to Felix.
'Minho, Truth or Dare?'
He looked up at the sound of his name. 'Dare.'
Felix read what was on the screen. 'Oh- Well- Kiss Hyunjin for 5 seconds.'
Minho looked at Hyunjin, who sat across from him. He stared right back at him, a pout on his face, but didn't object. Eventually, Minho sighed and stood up. He walked towards the other and crouched down beside him.
The others gasped as he turned Hyunjin's head with his hand and kissed him.
Everyone was staring with wide eyes and an open mouth. Jisung eyed Seungmin, who was watching the pair unnerved.
