Jackson's one hand was on the steering wheel as he was driving, while the other one was holding Aurora's hand. She was in the passenger seat, silently looking outside of the car's window.

Aurora hadn't said a word since they left together from the hospital. She hadn't explained anything that she had said to Jackson. She hadn't explained that the person who did that to her was someone she trusted and loved. But sometimes you don't see the person beside you for who he truly is.

It took endless fights to realise that he was toxic. That he wasn't someone she deserved next to her. And then it happened... And - as much as she didn't want to admit - she wasn't the same ever since.

"We don't have to talk about it, if you don't want to." Jackson broke the silence.

"We do, you should know. If we want us to work, we shouldn't keep secrets from each other. And that is something I've been carrying with me for a while. No one apart from Mark knew it. And I recently told Derek about it, just because it was getting too much." She turned to look at him for the first time since they entered his car. Jackson pulled over as Aurora's favourite diner came into the view. "What are you doing?" Aurora asked when the car stopped moving.

"I'll be right back, okay?" He squeezed her hand and leaned in to her giving her a kiss on her cheek. "And then I'll be here for you."

Aurora gave him a small smile and adjusted in her seat as Jackson walked into the diner.

Few minutes later Jackson came back. He got into the car and handed her the package. "This is for you."

She opened the bag and saw her favourite comfort food inside. "Chicken and waffles? And pie?" She exclaimed already feeling better. "You brought me pie!"

"There's for me too!" Jackson warned her with a chuckle.

"I will consider this and get back to you." She joked and leaned in for a kiss. "You don't have to do this. I don't want you to feel sorry for me."

"This isn't me feeling sorry for you. This is me showing you that what happened, you didn't deserve it. And I hope you know that. You're amazing Ari, you're beautiful and you're kind and smart and do you want me to go on? I can go on!"

"I don't know, I feel my face heating up, but I also kind of like it." She smiled softly.

He ran his fingers through her hair. "My point is that I am sorry for being a douche and thinking that you were playing around with me. I remember Mark. I remember him yelling at me to book him a ticket to Peru. It was about what happened, wasn't it?" Aurora nodded her head confirming his words. "I don't think I've ever seen him so upset. He was screaming. Saying that he should have been there. Had he ever told you that he did book a flight? But he couldn't come because he had a problem with his visa? And then you called saying that you were returning."

"He was going to come?" Aurora teared up.

"Yeah..." He paused.

"I miss him." She whispered.
