"Why do all good things come to an end?"

There is this moment when you know that something good, something you hold dearly into your heart, comes to an end.

Knowing the ending changes how we experience things. Aurora always liked to know the way things would end. That's why she loved horror movies so much, you know from the start who will die and who will survive, you know when the ghost will jump out on the screen. Life isn't like that. Life leaves you on the edge of your seat, biting your nails, holding your breath anxious to see what will happen next. You're curious and nervous as you journey through your life, wondering what the outcome of a relationship, a decision you made, will be. But you can never know until that thing in your life comes to an end. And usually the end isn't the one you were expecting. At least, Aurora didn't expect things to end like that with Jackson.

We've all been there. At some point in our lives, something we held dear came to an end. Whether it's a relationship, job, or experience; letting go is never easy...

Aurora was standing outside of Jackson's apartment. She had a really hard day at work and she only needed to see her daughter, who was certainly with her father. Once she ringed the doorbell she waited few seconds until Jackson opened the door. "Hey, here she is." He spoke to his daughter. "Hey." He gave a soft smile to Aurora. "She has been asking for you. Calling ma every minute and then crying. I couldn't calm her down."

Audree lifted her arms up towards her mom's direction and Aurora soon took her out of Jackson's embrace. "Hi sunshine." She kissed her forehead. "Say bye-bye to dad." And then she started crying again. "Come on baby." Aurora tried to calm down her daughter but she started asking for her father.

"Hey, little bee" Jackson walked closer to where Aurora was standing and took Audree's tiny palm in his. "It's okay, I'm not going anywhere." His eyes drifted into Aurora who was already staring back at him with a hurt look. Hurt because she knew that they were causing their daughter a lot of unnecessary pain.

"Just let her sleepover tonight, it's okay." Aurora said.

"Are you sure?" He asked and looked into her eyes trying to get an emotion. "Maybe you could come inside until she falls asleep and..."

"I don't think I can do that." She said honestly, but one look at her crying daughter was enough for her to give in. She rubbed her forehead as she was trying to make a decision. She didn't want to be in a house alone with Jackson. It would only remind her of the old times, and those times were nothing like it. But then again she only wanted what was best for her daughter. "We could just both put her to sleep together and then I can go."

"And then you can go." Jackson repeated. Part of him glad that she was staying.

"I don't think she has ever slept so easily before." Aurora commented as her and Jackson were walking out of Audree's room in Jackson's apartment. "She's usually giving a small fight but now she just slept."

"I guess seeing both of us at once helped." Jackson said his eyes on Aurora.

"Yeah." Aurora whispered as she took her coat from the couch. "Um, if she needs anything, just call me." She said and walked towards the door.

"You could stay for a drink." Jackson suggested, not sure if he was crossing a line.

"Why?" The question came out so suddenly out of her mouth. But she wasn't expecting to just have drinks with Jackson.
