Aurora was on-call that day and it was a really slow night, which was good, no people were injured and all that, but she was losing her mind with boredom and she was awake for no reason. The only thing she did that night was stitches and only because she stole that from an intern; she really needed to do something. So when the next morning arrived she was more than happy to return home to her family.

Unlocking the door to the penthouse, Aurora bumped into a pile of baggage. Her first thought was that Jackson was kicking her out; that he had realised that he didn't love her anymore - some scars can never go away. But she tried to keep her cool, until she had a reason not to. "Jackson?" She called, her voice echoing through the house, like it was empty. She closed the door behind her and walked into the living room, waiting for noise that would show her she was not alone in the house.

A second later she heard footsteps and Jackson appeared walking down the stairs, Audree in his embrace. "Mommy's here." He exclaimed happily and Audree giggled at the tone of his voice, for not apparent reason. She was just laughing at everything she heard anyway, plus she was happy that her mom was home. "Go give her a kiss." Jackson put her down and she ran towards Aurora.

"Hi sunshine!" Aurora bended on her knees and opened her hands, letting her daughter fall in her embrace. "Did you have fun without me?" She asked and lifted her as she stood up.

"We saw Elsa." Audree said excitedly, lisping. She could fully speak by now, but not all words sounded clear just yet. But both of her parents could fully understand her.

"Three times." Jackson added, referring to the movie Frozen that Audree had taken a liking the last few days. The previous day she kept asking for it and there was no way Jackson was going to refuse her. So he ended up watching the animation three times, along with her. "Hi." He told Aurora and pecked her lips. "How was the night shift?" He asked her.

"Slow. So very slow." Aurora sighed and put Audree down letting her ran to the pile of toys she had left at the living room's floor. "So what's all that?" She pointed behind her at the baggage. "Are you going somewhere?"

"We" he pointed between the two of them. "We are going somewhere." He smiled, "come on take a shower and we will leave. You can sleep in the car." He softly pushed her up the stairs before she could ask any further questions. He had planned everything and he only needed her to get ready.

"Are you sure that your mother is okay with keeping Audree for the weekend? I mean, she can get a bit much at times and I don't want Catherine to get all tired with the running around." The couple was in the car an hour or so later. Jackson was the one driving while Aurora was trying to figure out what was happening. They had talked about going on a camping trip, since Jackson had taken a liking at it recently and Aurora was always a nature type of person. But it was all too sudden and she slightly disliked that she had done nothing. "And Alex just gave both of us the weekend off? How did you pull that off?"
