When Aurora decided to actually go home with Jackson that night, she wasn't sure what she was expecting. She wasn't sure why she did it. She didn't want to be alone that day for sure. She only knew that she was missing him, more than she was hurting. And that was just messy.

Jackson was putting their daughter to sleep. And he was watching her, he could only see Aurora in her. Sure Audree had his eyes, but everything else was just from the woman he loved and hurt without wanting to. In that moment he promised himself that he would never do anything to hurt his daughter. He would be a good father to her.

Aurora was sitting on the couch looking at the ceiling, trying to see what it was that she was missing more. Jackson or herself happy. Probably both. Because there were so many moments that she was her happiest self when she was with him.

She stood up and walked towards the radio, needing music to fill in the silence. She turned the volume down, not wanting to disturb Audree's sleep and chose a random station. But it was getting late, and the night was welcoming the love songs.

Oh, can't you see? You belong to me. How my poor heart aches-

It only took her a moment to turn off the radio again and decided that the silence was better than that. "Why did you turn it off?" The silence was filled by Jackson's voice. He was standing at the bottom of the stairs looking at her.

Aurora turned to face him, taken aback by his presence; even though she was at his apartment. "Is she asleep?" She asked, ignoring his question.

"Yeah." Jackson looked at her. "Do you want to eat something? We could have breakfast for dinner, like you always loved to do." He suggested, reminded her of when they first moved in together. Aurora always loved making breakfast-y food for dinner after a long day at work. And Jackson learnt to love that, because of her.

"I'm not really hungry." She replied and took a seat at the couch again. "But if you are I could make something." She said when she noticed the disappointed look on his face as she turned down his proposal.

"No, don't worry, it's enough that you're here. I wasn't expecting that you'd actually come." He told her and sat down next to her, making sure that there was enough space between them so she wouldn't feel uncomfortable.

"Me neither. But here I am." She chuckled and played with her fingers. "This shouldn't feel so awkward. You and I." She never felt awkward with him, not even when they first met each other.

"I'm sorry."

"I know." Jackson rubbed his face, a small groan escaping his mouth and Aurora looked at him upset. "I'm sorry." She added and Jackson looked at her confused.

"For what?"

"I don't know. I just felt like I should apologise." She joked and Jackson smiled at her. "I miss you." She confessed. "Like I am hurting so much, but I also miss you."
