Ron backed away and into the bookshelf with a thud. Books fell loose and onto the floor in a mess of pages. He then rushed out of the door and into the corridor.
He practically ran down the stairs and with his head racing faster than his feet, sped down the corridor. He didn't know where he was going but he knew he had to get far away. Thoughts frenzied inside his mind as he found himself at the boy's toilets. Fortunately there was no one inside.
Opening the stall door, Ron sat down to try and process what just happened. No, no. He- no. Did he just imagine things? He wanted to believe that, he really did. But no matter how much he told himself he did, there was always a faint voice in the back of his head that knew the truth. Ron had kissed Blaise. And it wasn't going to go away. But he couldn't- he couldn't feel like this about- he just couldn't. What would people do? He couldn't walk through the corridor with people saying....those things. He was going to have to avoid Zabini now. It was too difficult. He'd have to do the project himself or something; it didn't matter anymore.
Leaving the bathroom he headed to the Gryffindor common room. When he arrived he met Harry at their table waiting for him. Hermione was sitting reading a book on a nearby chair. Ron took a deep breath and joined them at the table.
"Did you find out if Zabini is a deatheater?" Harry enquired.
Ron remembered,"Oh yeah that." He had completely forgotten about that until now. He had other things in mind.
"So-" Harry prompted.
"No, he's not." Ron informed, "He didn't have the dark mark." He really didn't know if he was but this was the only way he could get out of being near Blaise. "Will you stop with this now?" Hermione interfered, looking up from her book and at Harry.
"What?" Asked Ron.
"It's like I thought," she began, he's totally obsessing over this thing with Malfoy."
"I'm not Hermione, I've told you-" Harry started.
Hermione continued, ignoring him."He's starting to track him on the marauder's map Ron."
"But I don't understand why you won't-" Harry interrupted again.
Hermione cut him off, "For the last time I'm not checking Pansy for the dark mark!"
"Pansy?" Ron queried, "why did you call Parkinson Pansy?"
"Well Ron, it's actually because that's her name. Crazy right. Hermione explained sarcastically.
Harry added,"Yeah but why-" Hermione ended the conversation by abruptly getting up to leave. "I've got to go talk to Mcgonagall about homework, see you later." Hermione claimed. After she had left the room Ron and Harry resumed the conversation. "What was that about?" Ron questioned.
Harry answered. "I have no clue, maybe she actually had to talk to Mcgonagall?"
"Maybe." Ron responded. He doubted that was true but he didn't expect to get anymore information from Harry; he was even more oblivious than Ron. Besides- with Harry this invested in Malfoy he was surprised Harry was even paying attention.Ron didn't have time to worry about what either of them were doing right now. He was a little curious, but his mind was way too full of Blaise....and everything that happened- to focus on much else.
