"You need to show Zabini that you're certain. You messed things up a lot so it needs to be convincing. Have any ideas?" Hermione asked.
Ron responded, "I'm not sure but I don't think Blaise will let me talk to him long enough to explain anyway."
"That's why you're going to send an owl." Hermione explained.
"Ok," Ron resolved, "but I still have no clue what to do. I don't think he'd care what I have to say."
She assured: "I'm sure we can come up with-"
"What if he doesn't forgive me?" He began, "I don't know what I'd do 'Mione; I avoided him for three days and it was horrible. Three days. If that's my life now, I-"
"Ron, please- calm down. Hermione pleaded, Blaise likes you, he just needs to know if your serious about everything."
"What if it's not enough?" Ron questioned.
"Then you move on. I know it seems impossible but it gets better with time, I promise."Silence sat on their shoulders like fog, weighing them down until Ron eventually spoke: "So what are we going to do then?"
"-Well, I was thinking you could, invite him on a date." Hermione suggested.
Ron enquired, "How would I do that?"
"Simple, the astronomy tower is always empty expect for lessons at 10pm, send an owl inviting him." Hermione informed.
"No i mean," Ron elaborated, "how would that fix things."
"Well obviously you explain that you're serious about him in the owl, and I think the date would be stronger than words. I would show Zabini that you actually want to be official." Hermione furthered.
Ron realised, "ohhh, I get it now. That makes sense."
"I'll help you with it if you want, but you have to write the letter yourself." Hermione lectured.
"Ok." Ron replied.Ruffling in his bag, he pulled out the notepad and a quill. "Where should I start?" Ron pondered to himself. Apparently he decided because he started writing- fixated on whatever he was scrawling across the page.
For Blaise:
If you're reading this please just give me a chance to apologise if anything. I'm sorry Blaise, I really am. I never meant to make you feel like that. I was an idiot and I don't expect you to forgive me. The truth is: I really care about you- but I was scared. Like you said, I needed to sort myself out before I knew what I wanted. I have, I know what it is I'm feeling now- and I know what I want. I want you. I always have. But I've been too stupid and too afraid to face it.
Now I'm ready. I don't know if you can forgive me but i have to try. Can we please try to make this work? Meet me at the astronomy tower at 7;30 tomorrow. I don't want to give up yet. From Ron
Finally separating pen and paper, Ron lifted his head up to face Hermione. "Can I see?" She queried.
Ron responded, "Er- yeah, sure." He handed the notepad over to Hermione and watched as she read through the letter. Though he knew it'd be fine, he waited anxiously to hear her response. "This'll work," Hermione answered, "do you have an owl to use?"
"Yeah," Ron answered, "I have Pigwidgeon but I don't really want to use him for this."
"Oh yeah, he's a bit small," Hermione remembered, "you can use one of the school's."The owlery wasn't far from where they were so they decided to go there then and attach it ready for the deliveries tomorrow morning. After a few minutes of walking they arrived at the tower, when they both reached the top of the stairs they were met with amber eyes latching onto them and welcomed with several hoots. Ron chose a nearby barn owl and attached the letter to its foot. He spoke to it: "Tomorrow morning, deliver this to Blaise Zabini."
