Elçin's POV

The next morning, yes, it was the day.
I was in my room and someone knocked the door.
I opened to find Safiye Hatun standing holding something wrapped in a beige cloth.

"Nasılsın kızım?"

"Iyim, Safiye hatun."

She placed it on the bed and then unwrapped the cloth. It was a maroon outfit with a sashe and belt to be worn on the waist.

She came closer to me and told,
"He decided everything all of a sudden so I couldn't plan much. This outfit is a little old but stitched especially for a Seljuk lady. You can consider it as a gift from mine and Seferiye Hatun's side."

"It's very beautiful ama wasn't necessary.." I replied a little formally.

She placed her palm over my cheek and told,
"I know, the circumstances are quite unfavourable now. But, above all, you are going to marry a Seljuk Sultan. Wear this and get ready dear. I'll send a few ladies to help you get ready."

She left with a smile on her face.

'...you are going to marry a Seljuk Sultan. ' this sentence told by her ringed in my ears. A marriage which wouldn't last long. A relationship where trust was probably absent. A marriage which was supposedly a temporary solution. It wasn't easy to insert oneself in such a relationship.

They combed my hair and got me ready.
One of the ladies asked,
"Elçin hatun, will you put the fragrance?"

"Yok..no fragrance please." I answered.

"It's almost done Elçin hatun. Let's leave."

Burçak placed her hand over mine and complimented,
"Hanımım, you look really beautiful. MaşaAllah. Whatever the situation is, I'm really happy for you today. I hope you get all the happiness that you deserve."

Her words filled my eyes with tears. I hugged her and thanked,

"Sağol Burçak. Çok sağol!"

Meanwhile Safiye hatun and Gevher entered the room,

"Our bride is ready. Isn't she?"
She asked with a grin on her face.

"Let's go. They must be waiting."
Safiye hatun added.

"Just a minute. Where's Terken hatun? Can I meet her?"
I asked Safiye hatun

"Tamam Kızım. She's in her room. Gevher can take you there."

I entered her room. She laid almost lifeless on her bed. Seeing her in that condition, was hurtful.
I went further and sat beside her on the bed. She opened her eyes to find me beside her.
"Elçin" she mumbled.

"Terken hatun, how did this happen?" I asked in a very calm voice.

"I'm paying, Elçin! I'm paying for whatever I've done." She replied in a low intensity.

She smiled a little then told,
"Finally, you won. You won him. I was always wrong. I loved him but always chased power. Always!" Her voice almost cracked while she told.
