The blood, there was so much blood.
I couldn’t understand why there was so much blood.
I kept trying to call out for help but nothing could stop the bleeding.
I looked down at my hands as the blood slipped around my fingers and streamed down to the floor.
There was just so much blood.
I couldn’t save her.
4 hours earlier
I woke up that next morning and went down the steps of the house when I saw Graham sitting in the living room, “Don’t you have a plane to catch or something?”
Graham looked back at me, “Aurelia called me last night. She said that she believes now.”
I nodded my head as I went into the kitchen, “Yea no shit, I helped her with her.”
“You understand that the Darkness is getting closer right. That you don’t belong here.”
I glared back at him, “Get back home Graham. You aren't needed here.”
“They will all die if you don’t get back.”
“I'm gonna kill you if you don’t leave.”
Graham nodded his head back at me, “I hope you do come home.”
I watched him walk out of the house when my phone started going off.
It was Genevieve.
“Hey, I thought you were in Austin.”
“We haven’t left yet; can you meet me at the diner?”
“I will be there in like 10.”
“Thank you Jordana.”
I shook my head as I went over to the door and grabbed my keys, “I'm gonna regret this.”
At the diner, I looked at Genevieve as she was looking down at her stomach, “I don’t understand what you just asked me.”
“You know the father of this child. He is someone that I can't talk about.”
I narrowed my eyes back at her, “Genevieve, are you asking me to do something?”
“I need your words Jordana. I need to understand that you will always be there to protect my sons. That Thomas and Shep will always have you there if I can't be.”
“You seriously think something is gonna happen to you?”
“I'm having his child, something will happen to me.”
I shook my head back at her, “I don’t think you are thinking straight, look at Genevieve, nothing will happen to you. Jared will always be there for you since you are having his son.”
