Syracuse, New York
Aurelia sat down at the little table when the doors were opened.
She glanced up as her mother walked into the room.
“You are back, this can't be good.”
“Someone attacked us at the graveyard and killed her.”
Aurelia’s mother looked up at her, “You know the guards around here are on high alert after the rumors started about Jordana’s death.”
“It was confirmed.”
“The Red Zone will start their way toward the main district. Do you understand what I am saying?”
“But why, why do we have to pay for this?” Aurelia glared back at her mother.
“A father’s sin will always be his child’s burden.”
“But why, why is it us?” Aurelia looked at her.
“We have tried for years to make you understand that things aren't good anymore. That what we had is no longer there. That we can't promise a safe tomorrow if you are gone.”
“That is why you want us back there.”
“Syracuse will crumble if you aren't there.”
“It’s not my life to lose.”
“The Red Zone started attacking up after her death. When Cassie was killed, that was when shit got real.”
Aurelia looked up at her, “You know that Cassie isn't dead.”
“Oh I know, we all know. That is why Mrs. Kavanaugh wants Jordana back to protect what she has created.”
“What about Christian, he can protect everyone.”
“No, Christian wouldn’t hurt his sister. Jordana has proven that she doesn’t have a heart and is willing to do whatever to protect those that she loves.”
Aurelia sat back in her chair, “You mean the night that Cassie died.”
“The families know the truth about the shooting. They know what Cassie was doing but they don’t understand why.”
Aurelia nodded her head back at her mother, “Neither do we.”
Her mother looked back at her, “But you know something else.”
Aurelia glanced back at her.
“Jordana isn't dead.”
Aurelia cracked a smile back at her mother. “You really think she can die.”
“You faked her death?”
Aurelia got up from the table, “Make sure to tell everyone that Jordana is back.”
Her mother got up from the chair, “That won't stop her!”
