34. That's How You Lost The Girl.

Syracuse, NY

                That next morning, I walked up to their house knowing that I shouldn’t be in town as everyone was gone as of midnight.

                I knocked on the door as the butler glared back at me.

                “Don’t be rude to her.”

                He stepped to the side as I went into the house toward the front sitting room where Mrs. Kavanaugh was at.

                She glanced up at me from her morning tea, “You shouldn’t be here.”

                “How much are you in for?”

                She laughed back at me, “You know the rules of this town.”

                “How much are you in for?” I looked back at her.

                “I'm in more than your father.”

                I walked over to her and grabbed her hand, “I will be back and I will save you.”

                “The only way you are coming back is in a body bag and I don’t need to bury you.”

                I glanced back as I heard Christian enter the room, “I won't be the one that you have to bury.”

                Mrs. Kavanaugh stood up and looked me in the eyes, “You don’t know these streets anymore Jordana.”

                “I won't have this town destroyed after my father was killed and my mother was murdered infront of me and in the arms of my cousin. This town is mine.”

               

Vancouver, Canada

                Jensen unlocked the door to his apartment as the girl across the hall was leaving her place. Jensen shut the door behind him as he tossed his bag down on the couch.

                He went over to the fridge and grabbed a beer as he pulled out his phone.

                He went right past her number as he hit Danneel’s name.

                “Where are you? I thought you said you were still in Vancouver and you would help me clean some things out.” Jensen said into the phone.

                “I am right here Jensen and honestly, if you would look around first you wouldn’t run the risk of getting hurt.”

                  Jensen glanced up as Danneel walked out of the bedroom.

                He nodded his head back at her, “We should talk.”

                “Talk about what, you said that you made your choice in New York and that you would come with me and the baby.”

                “Where you planning against Jordana to help with Genevieve and you have to be honest with me right now about everything?”

                Danneel looked back at him quiet.

                Jensen shook his head, “Did you know Graham?”

                Danneel just stood there.           

                “Fucking say something Danneel, you have to say something to me about this!”
