“Promise me that you won't hate me for what I have done.” Stephen smiled at Katherine as he walked her toward the back room that would be the baby’s room.
“Stephen, you didn’t have to do this alone.”
He smiled back at her as he pushed the door open, “I wanna make sure that she loves it as much as you do.”
Katherine walked into the room with her mouth open, “You did this all?”
“Do you like it?”
Katherine looked at the pale baby pink walls that were decorated with white flowers along the top. She looked back at him as the little crib was something out of an antique magazine.
Stephen looked back at Katherine, “What do you think?”
“I love this. I mean you did an amazing job.” Katherine smiled at him. “I love you Stephen.”
Stephen smiled back at her as he pulled her into him, “I love you too.”
Across town, I walked into the room as Jared glanced up from his arm that was wrapped in a cast. “You feel ok today?”
“I don’t know what the fuck happened I mean I woke up in the back room and the nurse just said that I jumped from the roof and landed on the car that Graham was near or something.”
I nodded my head back at him, “You don’t remember anything?”
“I don’t remember anything.” Jared looked back at me.
I nodded my head as Boone walked into the room, “I am gonna let you two talk. I should really be going.”
Jared glanced up at Boone, “What are you doing here?”
“Graham called me and told me about what had happened to you. He wanted me to just come by and make sure that you were ok.”
“I just need someone to check on my wife.” Jared looked back at him.
Boone smiled, “She is doing fine, and I saw her before I came over here. She wanted me to tell you that she is being released and everything with the baby is ok.”
Jared smiled back at him, “Thanks brother.”
Boone nodded his head back at Jared, “Hopefully you can get out of here soon and you can get back to your life.”
“Yea, you aren't laying man.” Jared pushed a chunk of hair out of his face.
Boone sat down on the window ledge, “Are you going to leave with Genevieve?”
Jared glanced back at him.
“I was just asking because I think that is the smartest thing to do.”
“I hope it will be the smartest thing I ever do.”
I walked into the house looking down at my phone when I saw Aurelia sitting on the steps, “What are you doing?”
Aurelia glanced back at me, “I don’t understand how you and Graham can be on the same page with this. That through everything you are ok and that you understand this.”
