Begin Again in a New Pack

Chapter 12

                       Gabrielle's POV

The day we got told we had to testify I freaked. The thought of seeing him again scared the living hell out of me. When the day came I woke up sick as hell along with all these negative thoughts.

"What if they don't believe us? What if they find him not guilty? What if-"

Jacob cut me off.

"Please stop with the "what ifs" you're going to stress yourself out more G."

"I can't help it. I'm fucking scared."

"You still have the bite on you right?"

"Yes sadly."

"Then there's your proof. You've got nothing to worry about."

"What if they think it's makeup?"

"You're going to make yourself sick if you keep worrying."

After he said that I ran to the bathroom and threw up and sat there for almost an hour. His parents came in to tell us we had to leave but I was still on the floor throwing up.

"Is she pregnant or something?"

" MOM! One's enough for right now"

"Sorry had to ask since that's how I was when I was pregnant with you."

"I'm okay! I swear it's just nerves."

"Come on we need to leave."

"I'll stay home with Cody."

"Thank you mom."

He extended his arm out so I could take his hand so he could help me up. The entire car ride I was bouncing my leg. He put his hand on my leg to try and me calm down but I looked at him with tears.

"Look at me. It's going to be alright. You need to calm down. Please."

"I can't help it. I've never been to court. How are you this calm??"

"To be honest I'm terrified. I just know how to hide it."

After the hour long car ride we all got out of the car and walked in. Well almost all of us. I just stood there staring at the entrance. J walked back to grab my hand but it was like I was frozen to the ground.

"You're going to be okay I promise."

I took a deep breath and walked up the stairs. Once we got inside we met with the prosecutor. She explained how it was going to go and who she planned to call first. We saw Marcus enter with his defense attorney. We were given a cold stare by him. As soon as he walked in I hid behind Jacob. My arms went around his waist while his arms wrapped around his back to hold me. I was muttering under my breath "im okay ive got him im going to be okay"

Once sitting day one of the trial began.

"Prosecutor who are you calling to the stand?"

"Gabrielle Blue."

I looked at Jacob with terror in her eyes.

"Miss.Blue? I would like to not hold you in contempt of court."

I asked him what that meant and he said he'd tell me later. I finally made her way to the stand and sat down.

"Miss.Blue can you explain your side of the story?"

I took a deep breath and began.

"We were in this cabin in the woods and then my boyfriend got a message saying the pack was under attack and we had to come back to the house. Before we could get to where his family was Marcus showed up behind my boyfriend and injected him with something and the same thing happened to me but I'm not sure who injected me. "
