Begin Again in a New Pack

Chapter 26

                               Gabrielle's POV
                    *possible trigger warning*

"Delilah! Delilah Rose Dawn! Cody Jon! Dawn! Come here!"

I saw Carolyn and Dom had found them. We all stopped to catch our breaths.

"What did I tell you?"

"To stay by you."

"Why did you run off?"

"We wanted to go outside."

"It's almost 10 at night. You know you're not allowed outside that late."

We stared at each other and started to Mindlink.
                      *Mindlink*

"Don't ground them. It's his  birthday. Give them a warning Jake."

"But they ran off."

"Jacob Ross."

"Why do you like saying my middle name?"

" I don't know. Just give the kid a warning. Don't ruin her night."

"Gabrielle Faith."

"Jacob. Warning no grounding"

"Fine."
                          
                              *End of Mindlink*

"You're doing that thing again! I hate it! Why can't I know what you're saying?"

"You're off the hook. But only because it's Cody's birthday."

"Thank you!"

"since when did we have to do and good cop and bad cop thing?"

"i don't know. i guess a year ago?"

"I know you're whispering but I still hear you!"

Curse their ears.

We sang happy birthday then ate cake. Oh and told everyone I'm pregnant again. I don't know how but the kids stayed up the entire time. I guess they had to much sugar. They'll crash eventually. It also took almost a hour to finish cleaning.

"Alright kiddos time for bed."

"But we're not tired!"

Although they claimed they're not tired they yawned.

"At least go upstairs and change. You can shower in the morning."

"We should see how long it takes for her to fall asleep. I give them 10 minutes."

"I give them 5. They'll  probably fall asleep on the couch."

"$5 seem like a good bet?"

"Yep."

Cody and Lilah came back down and sat down on the couch. Jacob and I sat down and just waited. I was right. 5 minutes later they were asleep.

"see i told you."

"i'll give you the money in the morning."

J scooped Lilah up and brought her upstairs. Then he came back downstairs for Cody. I followed them. He tucked them into bed then we both sat down on our bed.

"Do you think they'll be as tall as you? Or as short as me?"

"Maybe in the middle. I like how you call Lilah "little wolf" I think it's cute."

"It just felt fitting. You know since that's what my mom calls me."

We both changed out of these fancy clothes into some more comfortable clothes then laid down.
