Chapter 32

                                    Cody's POV

I walked past River's room and walked into mine. I laid down and stared at the ceiling.

"There's gotta be a way we help."

"I know. But how do we find it?"

"I don't know."

"Cody we're going out for lunch. Do you think you and River would want to go?"

"I don't know. She's scared to leave the house. I need to stay with her."

Once everyone left it was just me and River home alone. I figured I should let her have her space. She'll find me when she's ready. I'm taking a nap. This is a waiting game at this point. I shut my eyes. I felt a pressure on my body so I woke up. I saw River was laying on me. I wrapped my arms around her.

"I guess she feels better."

"Hi Cody."

"Hi honey. Do you feel better?"

"I don't know yet. Your aunt said I should give it time. Go back to sleep. I'm sorry I woke you."

"It's okay. I don't mind. I think I want to take a year off this whole music thing so I can focus on you."

"I don't want to be the reason you take a break."

"It's okay. I told you. You're more important than my career. I just have to tell Bruce."

*Phone Call with Bruce*

"We need to talk."

"What did you do now?"

"Nothing! At least nothing that I'm aware of. I'm thinking about taking a year off."

"You're WHAT?! You're getting big in the industry now! Why?"

"Uh I wanna focus on my family."

"This isn't going to look good."

"I don't care. Just release the album and the songs that didn't make it."

"Ugh. Fine."

*End of Phone Call*

We ended up getting married two months before River turned 20. I didn't do anything that involved music for a year. More like two years. Everyone kept asking where I was. I didn't answer. We decided to do world tour. As you probably know by now River loves soundcheck. Every show she'd scream a different song into the microphone. Sometimes she yells snippets of multiple songs.

"Ahem.... MET YOU WHEN WE WERE ONE YEARS OLD!"

"Are you singing a whole song or multiple?"

"YOU ARE MY WORLD!!"

"Okay I think the mic's good babe!"

"I LOVE YOU! YOU KNOW THIS. DON'T YOU?!"

"River? Honey? You can stop now."
