CHAPTER 22 REVIEW!!

Hayden's POV

"I'm home!" I announced, walking through the foyer and into the dining room.

There sitting at the table were Mom, Dad and some man in an Armani suit, obviously someone wealthy. All their heads turned towards me and the unknown man turned to me.

"Hayden." he said pleasantly. "Please, take a seat. We need to talk."

CHAPTER 23

Xavier's POV

"So what did they want?" I asked Hayden, hitting the speaker phone button.

Reaching over to my nightstand, I tried to grab my bottle of pain meds.

"Well, the creepy guy in the suit was my lawyer! I didn't even know I had a lawyer!" Hayden exclaimed animatedly. "Dad decided that I needed to press charges on Darren, although I didn't want to. I mean it wasn't that big of a deal. But everyone was worked up. Oh! And supposedly, I have 'more rights' because I'm pregnant! That's what Mr. Fancy-lawyer dude said." she rambled, finishing in a huff.

I knocked the bottle on the floor that I had been reaching for and swore under my breath as I heard the pills sliding across my hardwood floor.

"What's wrong?" Hayden asked. "Are you alright?"

"No, I mean, yeah, I'm fine. I just, I knocked my pills on the nightstand and they fell on the floor." I leaned off the side of my bed and grabbed a handful of the pills closest to me.

"Are you sure?" she asked, a yawn escaping her mouth at her last word.

"Yeah, I'm fine. I think you should get some sleep, you know, you're sleeping for two now." I laughed.

"Shut uuuuuppp." she yawned again. "Fine, I will."

I glanced over at my clock, reading one twenty three and I laughed.

"It's one two three." I told her.

"You're funny." she said tiredly.

"Get some sleep babe. I love you." I said sweetly.

"Alright. Love you too. Goodnight."

"Night sweetie. Give the baby a kiss."

"I will." she laughed tiredly and yawned again. "Night."

I ended the call with Hayden and hit speed dial number four, calling Charles.

"Yes Xavier?"

"I kinda spilled my pain meds all over the floor." I told him and he laughed.

"Excuse me, do you need some help with that?" a young woman asked me as I tried to carry mine and Hayden's latte's from the counter to my car.

Starbucks was unusually crowded this morning and maneuvering around the crowd on one crutch and carry two burning latte's wasn't helping.

I turned to look at the girl and realized she went to my school. I tried to remember her name, but I blanked.

She too looked at me with a weird expression.
