"What do you want mom?" Jalyn asked. "I want you to get up, and do something. You have been in this room for way too long." She said. "But I like being here, I don't have to interact with... Humans." She shivered. "Stop being so dramatic and get out of this bed." "Ugh!" "We're going out, put on some clean clothes!" Her mom left the room.

"See anything you like?" Jalyn's mom asked. "No, not really." She said. "Oh, well I found something for me!" She squealed. "Mom, we are in a store can you be a little quieter?" "Calm down, I'm not that loud." She sighed, "I just don't want to draw any attention to us." "Ok. But hurry up and find something, I have to be at work in like 2 hours." Her mom said. "Two hours?! Mom, why are we even here you need to get to work!" Jalyn yelled. Her mom smirked at her, "Who's being loud now?" Jalyn sarcastically laughed, "Ha..Ha..so funny." Her mom stuck out her tongue. "You're such a kid," Jalyn said.  "Whatever, but seriously pick something out." "Fine." She picked out some black ripped jeans and a black crop top that said,  'I don't care.  "Ha, pretty." Her mom said and rolled her eyes.

"I know it is, thanks." She laughed. "Alright, let's go." Her mom said. They walked up to the cash register and no one was there. "Wow, they really take their job seriously." Jalyn said. "Hello! Anyone here?!" Her mom yelled. "Mom! Stop yelling, someone will come." She looked around to make sure no one was looking at them. A young boy, who looked about 17 or 18 came to the counter. 'dang he's fine' Jalyn thought. "What?" The boy asked rudely. 'Nevermind'  "I'd like to pay for these." Her mom said. "Ok, you gon' put yo stuff on the counter so I can check it?" He asked in still a rude tone. Jalyn scoffed and threw her clothes on the counter. "Jalyn! What is wrong with you?" Her mom asked. "Nothing." She said with her eyes still focused on the boy. He smirked then poked his tongue in his cheek. Her mom paid. "Thank you, we'll be going now." Her mom pulled her out of the store. "What happened back there?" Her mom said in an angry tone. "He was being so rude! You couldn't tell?" Jalyn responded. "Even if he was, that doesn't give you an excuse to be. Be the bigger person even if someone gets on your nerves." Her mom said. "Being the bigger person is overrated," Jalyn whispered.

She dropped her bags on the floor and hopped on her bed laying down. Her mom walked in. "Get your stuff together, the first day of school is tomorrow." She walked out. "Ugh!" Jalyn groaned. "School is overrated too." She said. 'that boy at the mall was so cute' she thought, 'but he was rude and I don't have time for that. Luckily I will never see him again so I can stop thinking about him.'

...or will she?
