"I'm home!" Jalyn yells as she walks through the door. No one answers. 'Hm, no one's home?' She goes upstairs to her room and starts to go in. But then she hears snoring. She goes to the guest room to see her aunt asleep with a book on her chest. 'Oh, she is still here. I'll tell her what happened later.' She goes back to her room and closes the door. She takes a deep breath, puts her bag down on the floor, and looks at the wall. 'What the hell is wrong with him?' She puts her hands over her face and rolls her eyes, "What the hell is wrong with me?" She asks herself out loud. Her anger builds up and she uses one hand to punch the palm of her other hand. "Why didn't I tell Lya?" She says. She taps her foot and punches the palm of her hand faster, and faster, and faster until she doesn't hit it anymore. Instead, she uses her fist to punch her wall really hard. "Ah!" She screams in pain. "What the fuck!" Jalyn whisper-yells holding her hand to her chest. 'Why did I do that?' She falls on the floor to sit down, biting her lip in pain. Tears come to her eyes but she doesn't let them fall. She blinks them away and looks up at the wall she punched. She sees a dent in the wall and some of the paint on the floor. 'Shit, I'm dead.' She looks down at her hand that she's holding to examine the knuckles. Jalyn turns her hand over to see little spots of paint on her hand, as well as the blood... A lot of it. "Ow." She whispers. Jalyn shakes her head and uses her other hand to push up off of the floor. She opens the door and goes out of her room into the bathroom. She examines her hand from the mirror, she sees a few cuts and turns on the cold water. She puts her hand under the water and the paint chips come off and she sees the cuts directly. Then her aunt comes to the entrance of the bathroom and looks at Jalyn and frowns, "What are you doing?" She asks. "RInsing my hand off." Jalyn answers not looking at her. "Why?" Her aunt asks trying to see her hand. Jalyn sighs and turns off the water. She goes to her aunt at the doorway and slides past her. "You gon tell me why?" Jalyn nods her head and says, "Yeah, follow me." "Okay." Her aunt says. Jalyn starts to her room with her aunt following behind her, they make it to her room but before Jalyn opens the door she turns to her aunt. "Okay, I'm gonna show you. But you have to promise to not get mad." She says. "I promise, but honestly I don't think that I'm the one you should be worried about." Jalyn nods her head. "You're right." She turns back around and opens the door with the hand that isn't injured. They both walk in and her aunt closes the door behind her. "So what were you gonna show me?" She asks looking at Jalyn, but Jalyn just stares at the wall for a moment before speaking. Then she points to the dent in the wall that she punched. "That." Jalyn says. Her aunt looks at the wall and her eyes open wide, she looks back and forth at Jalyn and the wall. "You did that?" She asks concerned. "Yeah." Jalyn says. "Why?" Jalyn bites her lip and looks at her aunt with puppy eyes, "Can you just help me?" She asks. "I'll help you when you tell me why you punched the wall so hard you made a dent in it." Her aunt says folding her hands together. "I lied to Lya." Jalyn says shrugging her shoulders. Her aunt raises one of her eyebrows and chews some invisible gum, "You punched the wall because you lied to Lya?" Jalyn presses her lips together, "That's not all." "Well, what's the rest?" She asks putting her hand on her hip. "I'll tell you later, can you just help me please?" Jalyn pleads. "Girl, I do not help whiners unless they are little children at the office. Aren't you seventeen?" Her aunt asks. Jalyn nods her head, "Yes. I'm sorry. Can you help me though?" Her aunt doesn't answer but instead looks her up and down for a minute. "Fine, go wait downstairs I gotta get my first aid kit." She says and goes out of her room, and Jalyn looks at her surprised. "You just have a first aid kit with you?" She asks. Her aunt comes back to the doorway, "Um, yeah. I'm a nurse remember?" Jalyn nods her head totally lying. "Yes." 'No.' Her aunt smiles, "Have you ever thought about going into the medical field like me and your mom?" Jalyn shakes her head. "Nah, I'm good." "Well, what do you want to do?" She asks. "I don't know for sure yet." "Well, since you're SO prepared for the future... I still think that you should think about it." "Nah I'm good." Jalyn says as she leaves her room. "Think about it!" Her aunt yells and Jalyn heads downstairs, "Nope!" She yells back. Her aunt goes to the guest room to get the first aid kit, when she has it, she walks past Jalyn's room and sees the dent in the wall. So she closes her door, "Wouldn't want anyone to get in trouble just yet." She says to herself. Meanwhile, Jalyn arrives downstairs and sits at the kitchen table in the front. Holding both of her hands out in front of her. 'I wanna go to sleep. but I'm in pain!' Her aunt comes downstairs and sees Jalyn with her hands out on the table. "Uh uh." She says. "Huh?" Jalyn says looking up at her. Her aunt goes to the couch and grabs a pillow. She brings it back to Jalyn and grabs her hand up putting it on the pillow. Jalyn sucks in the air and clenches her teeth in pain. Her aunt scrunches her face at Jalyns noise of pain. "Sorry." "It's fine." "Okay, what needs to happen is you're supposed to rest and elevate the hand." Her aunt says. "I don't think it's sprained." Jalyn says. Her aunt presses her lips together as she looks at her. "Really?" she asks, and Jalyn nods. Then her aunt pushes her finger down on one of her knuckles and Jalyn cries out in pain. "Yeah... totally not sprained." She says and rolls her eyes. Her aunt pulls out a damp washcloth and gently starts wiping the water and the paint off of Jalyns hand. After she's done doing that she goes to the cabinets and gets a Ziploc bag, then goes to the freezer and puts ice in it. Her aunt comes back over to Jalyn and sets the bag down on her hand, but Jalyn winces again. "Ooh wait, that might be too cold." She says and takes the bag off. She turns to the counter, grabs a paper towel, and wraps it around the bag. She comes back to Jalyn and places the bag of ice on her hand again, "Is that better?" She asks. Jalyn nods, "Yeah it's fine." Her aunt nods as well, "Okay good. This is supposed to stay on for twenty minutes before I can do anything else to it, so try not to move it." She says. "Got it." "Good."... They both don't say anything to each other until Auntie Patrice remembers the question she asked earlier that didn't get answered. "So why did you punch the wall?" She asks. Jalyn opens her mouth to speak, but her aunt cuts her off. "And don't tell me it's because you lied to Lya. I know it's more than that." "I wasn't gonna say that." Jalyn says defensively. "Then what were you gonna say?" "I was gonna say that I found out some terrible information today." "Why is it terrible?" "It's terrible because it has to do with me, Jungkook, and Lya." Jalyn says. Her aunt leans toward her, "Well spill the tea sis!" Jalyn laughs out loud at this almost moving her hand off of the pillow. "Hey, hey! watch your hand." Her aunt says panicking. "Okay sorry." "It's fine, just tell me." "Okay, so when I got back to school at the beginning of this week Jungkook was supposed to bring me my clo- I mean something." Her aunt raises one eyebrow, "Okay," She says slowly. "But he hadn't been at school for like, three days." Jalyn explains, her aunt nods listening. "So I was getting kind of worried or whatever." She pauses randomly and her aunt looks at her, "Keep going." "Sorry, anyway so he came back today and pulled me into a closet." Her aunt waves both of her hands in her face, "Nah ah! That's it, that's it. I don't wanna know any details." Jalyn looks at her aunt confused. "Details?" "Whatever ya'll did in that closet, you can keep to yourself." Her aunt says. "We didn't do anything though." "Y'all didn't?" Jalyn shakes her head 'no'. "Well we made out a little bit, but that's it." "That better had been it." Auntie Patrice says. "Auntie! can I continue?" "Yes, yes sorry. Go ahead." "Okay so he came back, and then later I saw Lya at Lunch." Jalyn starts. "Ooh here comes the tea." Her aunt whispers to herself. "You remember she came over here and asked about me and Jungkook? or If I knew where he was?" Jalyn asks, and her aunt nods her head. "Yeah." "Well, she came to me and she told me that the reason she was asking all those questions was because..." Jalyn pauses to build up suspense. "Because what?" "Because she's dating him." Jalyn says quickly. "She's what?" Her aunt asks with her mouth open. "I said she's dating Jungkook." "Well that's surprising." "Yeah I know. And the terrible part is that I could've told her that I kissed him, but I didn't." "Why didn't you?" Jalyn shrugs her shoulders, "I don't know I guess it just shocked me and I had to take a moment." She says. "Well have you talked to Jungkook at all since you found out?" Her aunt asks. Jalyn nods her head, "Yeah." "What did he say?" "He said he kissed me because he likes me." Her aunt rolls her eyes, "What the hell?! of course he did." "I know right?!" "So what did you do after?" "I smacked the shit out of him." Jalyn answers like it was obvious. "Hell yeah, I would've done the same thing." Her aunt says. "So, I punched the wall because I was angry at Jungkook for cheating and angry at myself for not telling Lya even after I found out." "I guess I get that." Her aunt says nodding. *Beep *Beep *Beep "Oh, it's time for me to wrap your hand." "Oh my gosh thank you, my hand is freezing." Jalyn says. Her aunt takes the bag of ice off of her hand and gets her first aid kit. She pulls out a bandage and lifts Jalyns hand up gently. She wraps her knuckles all the way down to her wrist, then comes back up to wrap the rest around the knuckle. Jalyn smiles when she's done. "Thanks." "You're welcome, don't move it too much or else it won't heal fast." Her aunt says. "Got it, no moving." Jalyn confirms. "So, what are you gonna do about that hole in the wall?" "It's not a hole, it's a dent!" "Whatever it is, what are you gonna do about it?" Her aunt asks curious. "Nothing." Jalyn says firmly. "Nothing?" "Yep, I'm just gonna let it stay there, and guide my mom away from my room so she doesn't see it." She says. Her aunt rolls her eyes, "Yeah, that'll totally work...Not!" "Yes it will, trust the process." "Yeah, don't put too much trust in this process, I don't think that it will last long." Her aunt says putting everything back inside of her first aid kit. "Anyway, so this doesn't happen again I advise you to focus on God instead of boys." She says. And Jalyn gasps dramatically, "I focus on God!" "Yeah, sure."
