Lies

"Namjoon! Namjoon!" Jalyn yells pushing through the crowd. She spots him by some of his friends towards the front of the house. She comes up behind him and taps him on the shoulder. He turns around, "Hey Jalyn what's up?" "Hey, Lya said that you wanted me. So I came to see what you wanted." Namjoon raises his eyebrow and then takes a sip of his drink. "Well, I didn't call you. But, I can introduce you to some of my friends now that you are here." 'You didn't call me? Then why did Lya send me down here?' "Um, okay I guess." Jalyn says. Namjoon moves to the side so she can see all of his friends. He points to the first guy with black curly hair, kind of covering his eyes. "This is my friend Taehyung." He waves and Jalyn smiles not showing any teeth. He points to the second guy whose hair is brown and straight, he's also smiling at her. "This is my friend Hobi." She smiles back at him. Then Namjoon points to the last guy who has straight, black hair and is a little bit shorter than the other guys. He gives Jalyn a gummy smile, and she waves. "And this is my friend Yoongi." Namjoon finishes. She smiles and says, "Nice to meet you guys." "Nice to meet you too." They say. "So, what were you guys talking about before I interrupted?" Yoongi shrugs and says, "Just some stuff about music, and teaching." Jalyn gasps and turns to Namjoon, "You told them that you wanted to be a music teacher for little kids?" She asks. Namjoon shakes his head and sighs. "Nope, you did just now." He says, and Taehyung gasps. "Hyung, you wanna be a teacher?" Namjoon nods his head. "Yeah." "Wow." Yoongi says. Hobi puts his arm on Namjoon's shoulder, "You would be a great teacher. Do you." He says. Namjoon chuckles lightly at his words. "I will." "Hurry up then!" Yoongi says. "Calm down, this isn't even about you." Yoongi chuckles, "Its always about me." Namjoon rolls his eyes and Jalyn laughs. "Aw man. I'll be right back, I gotta go get some more of this drink." Taehyung says and walks away. They all nod and say, "Okay." Hobi turns to Jalyn and smiles, "So, what do you want to do with your life when you graduate?" He asks. Jalyn shrugs her shoulders and sighs. "I don't exactly know what I want to do." Yoongi nods, "I get that." "Like, I have hobbies and things that I'm good at but will they be useful for life? Will they get me anywhere in and after college?" Jalyn says. "Well, I don't have the answers. But just... Do what you love." Hobi says. Jalyn smiles, "I'll try." "Good." Namjoon says. "You need to do that too." Jalyn says to him. Namjoon rolls his eyes, "I will! How many times do I need to tell you that?" "Okay, okay." Jalyn says. "What does Lya think about you wanting to be a teacher?" Yoongi asks. Jalyn looks over at him and Namjoon sighs and clears his throat. They stand in silence for a minute. Yoongi waves his hand at both of them, "So is anybody gonna tell me what she thinks?" He asks. "What?" Namjoon asks. "Have you not told her yet?" Yoongi asks. Namjoon shakes his head, "No." "Oh my gosh." Yoongi sighs. "Why not? You know she hates being told things at the last minute." Hobi says. "Because! She hates kids, and music, and when I'm gone." Namjoon says. Yoongi rolls his eyes and smacks his lips, "She went missing for three hours and didn't call you, or tell you where she went... She will be okay when you're gone." "But-" "No." Hobi interrupts. "You have to do what you want, it's not about her." Yoongi nods aggreeingly, "Yeah, what is she even doing with her life?" "Hey! She's doing stuff with her life." Namjoon pleads. Jalyn looks at them and nods quickly, "Yeah." She says. Yoongi presses his lips together and crosses his arms, "Really?" He asks. They both nod, "Like what?" "She-" Jalyn starts. "That's what I thought, nothing!" Yoongi says. Jalyn frowns, "You didn't even let me finish my sentence!" "Fine, say what you were going to say." He puts his hand out to let her talk. "I was going to say she..." Jalyn stops talking and thinks for a minute. "She what?" Yoongi asks. Jalyn presses her lips together and huffs. "You know what! Why am I even being asked this question, I barely know her!" Jalyn yells. Yoongi puts his hands up, "Alright, alright sorry." Namjoon and Hobi start laughing, then Yoongi notices but they do a terrible job of hiding their laughter. "What the hell is so funny? You can't answer the question either." Namjoon shakes his head, "It's not that, it's just that you apologized." "Okay and?" "Since when do you do that?" Namjoon asks. "Since when she isn't you, and I feel like apologizing." Yoongi says. Namjoon rolls his eyes, "Alright whatever." Yoongi turns to Jalyn, "Don't mind them and just accept my apology." He says. Jalyn looks back and forth between all of the guys, "Okay, apology accepted. But just so you know, I didn't really need an apology." She says. "What?!" "I'm not really mad, I can learn about Lya later." "Fine. Apology taken back." Yoongi says. Jalyn scoffs, "You are so dramatic." "You said you didn't need it, so I took it back. No need to waste MY sincere apologies." He says. Hobi raises his eyebrows in surprise, "Your sincere apologies?" "Yes, they are rare. So I can't just go around giving them to everyone." Yoongi says. Namjoon squints his eyes at him and sighs. "I am officially done with this dude." Jalyn laughs and puts her arm on Yoongi's shoulder. Yoongi looks at his shoulder for a moment, then back at her. "I'm sorry for taking your apology, please except mine. They aren't as rare or sincere as yours though." Jalyn says. "How touching." He says, and gives a fake smile. Namjoon chuckles. "I will accept your apology when you get your hand off of my shoulder." Jalyn looks at her hand, then takes it off of him quickly. "Oh, my bad." "Apology accepted." Yoongi says and smiles showing no teeth. "Hey guys!" A voice says and comes up to them. "Hey Jungkook, and Lya!" Hobi says. Jungkook comes over and stands with the group, not looking at Jalyn at all. 'Really? No eye contact after what just happened?' He shakes hands with Jungkook and gives Lya a hug. "Hey Yoongi." Lya says. He just smiles and waves lightly at her. She turns to Namjoon and Jalyn, "I came here with y'all so I don't have to introduce myself...Right?" Namjoon chuckles and covers his mouth while Jalyn laughs and says, "Right." "Ahhh!!!" Taehyung yells. 'I guess he's back.' "What the hell are you yelling about?" Yoongi asks as Taehyung runs to them. Taehyung then runs to Jungkook and basically jumps on him to give him a hug. Namjoon frowns, "You yelled to give Jungkook a hug?" "Yes." He then turns to Jungkook and hugs him tighter, "My best friend." They all laugh, and Lya and Jalyn turns to each other and scream, "Ahhh!! My best friend." They run to each other all dramatically and slowly, then hug. Taehyung opens his mouth and gasps. "I was not that dramatic." He says. All of them then laugh really hard, and Hobi almost falls while running to Namjoon and laughing. Taehyung stops hugging Jungkook and looks at all of them, "You know what? Forget all of y'all, it was not that funny." He says while pouting. "Aww, you're so cute." Jalyn says. Taehyung then turns to Lya and Jungkook, "Hey, did you know that Namjoon's gonna be a music teacher soon?" Jungkook smiles and turns to Namjoon, "That's great hyung! Good for you." Namjoon doesn't respond. Instead he looks at Lya who's next to him. Everyone else in the group goes dead silent. 'Oh, shit.' Jungkook keeps the smile on his face, but it slowly fades as he looks back and forth at Namjoon and everyone else. "Okay then." He says quietly. "What?" Lya says seriously. Jungkook turns around quickly like he forgot she was there. "Lya-" Namjoon starts, "Music teacher? What the fuck is he talking about?" "I know that you may be upse-" "When were you gonna tell me? Oh, or were you just not gonna say anything to me at all?" She asks. "I was gonna tell you soon, very soon." Namjoon answers. "So at the last minute or on your first day? 'Cause both is some bullshit." "I-" Namjoon stops and doesn't finish his sentence. They stare at each other in silence. "Wow." Lya says. She turns and walks away into the crowd, "Lya!" Namjoon yells and chases after her. Jalyn looks at everyone else and feels like no one is going to do anything, so she starts to walk after Lya and Namjoon. But Hobi grabs her arm, "Don't. Let them talk, they'll be okay." Jalyn nods her head and starts walking again, "Hey." Yoongi says. "Relax, I'm just going to get a drink." Jalyn says, and Yoongi nods his head slowly. She walks away and heads toward the bar, she arrives and sits down.
