"Jalyn, come on it's time to get up." Jalyn groans and turns over to see her mom. She closes her eyes and turns back over, not facing her mom. Her mom breathes out and snatches the blanket off of Jalyn. "I said get up, it's Sunday and time for church." Jalyn shivers and turns to her mom. "I thought you had work today." She says. "Yeah well, you make time for God." Jalyn thinks for a moment and then smiles, "So you don't have work today? And I don't have to get a babysitter?" Her mom stares at her and then laughs. "Haha, that was funny. No, you still have a babysitter and I still have work. I'm going after church." Jalyn frowns, "Oh." "Yeah, now hurry up and get ready or we're going to be late." Her mom says and leaves her room. Jalyn gets out of the bed and picks up her blanket. She decides to make up her bed since the whole comforter got ripped off. 'Heh, nice.'  She goes to her closet and picks out some clothes for church. She gets her towel and heads to the bathroom. She takes a nice, long, hot shower. Then her mom knocks on the door, "Come on, we're gonna be late." 'Oh my gosh.' " Coming!" Jalyn yells. She gets out of the shower and wraps the towel around her body, just then her mom comes through the door almost making her drop the towel. "Mom!" "What? nothing I haven't seen before, just hurry up and go get changed." Jalyn sighs and walks past her mom out of the bathroom, holding her towel tight to make sure she doesn't drop it. She makes it to her room and closes the door, she changes into a white button up shirt and a long light blue skirt, with some white gym shoes. She sprays perfume on herself, then runs downstairs where her mom is. "Where's your bible?" She asks. Jalyn looks at her mom and answers, "It was on my phone, but... you know, you took that." Her mom smiles and looks back at her. "You're still not getting your phone back." Jalyn opens her mouth, "Well what am I supposed to do about my bible?" She asks, "You can borrow one from the Church." Her mom answers. Jalyn doesn't say anything back, she just follows her mom out the door and into the car. They arrive at the Church about fifteen minutes later, Jalyn's mom tries to jog to the door but kind of struggles because she's wearing heels. Jalyn just follows behind unbothered. Her mom makes it to the door and holds it open for her when she notices that Jalyn is far behind. She waves her hand towards her and says, "Jalyn hurry up, we're already late." Jalyn rolls her eyes and jogs to her mom. When she gets to her, her mom glares at her and says, "I saw that. You not about to have this attitude with me up in Church." "Okay." They go inside and find their seats and her mom takes out her bible, and then remembers that Jalyn doesn't have one. "Go ask for a bible." Her mom says, and Jalyn is caught off guard. "Huh?" "Go ask for a bible, I think they stopped handing them out." "Yeah. Exactly, they don't have anymore." Jalyn says. Her mom presses her lips together at her, "This is a Church, I'm pretty sure they have some extra bibles. So go ask for one." Jalyn looks at her mom and then sighs, she gets out of the aisle and heads to where they came in. She goes to the front desk and sees a lady with glasses. The lady looks up at her and smiles, "Hi." "Hi, I was wondering if you had any bibles?" "Of course we do." Jalyn smiles back at her, "Oh, okay. May I have one?" The lady nods and takes one from behind the desk and hands it to Jalyn. "Thank you so much." She starts to walk away but then the lady says something to her, "Oh! when the service is over you can just bring it back up here." She says. "Okay." Jalyn thinks for a moment and then walks back over to the desk, "Do you know when this service will be over? or do you have an idea about what time it might end?" She asks. The lady frowns and looks up like she's thinking and then looks back at Jalyn, "Honestly... I don't really know. It's supposed to end at 12:00, but there are no services after this one, so it might go over." Jalyn nods disappointingly, "Ah, I see. Thanks." The lady nods, and Jalyn heads back to where her mom is. But she stops in the bathroom, then takes a drink of water, then goes to the library to try and waste time so the service can seem shorter when she get's back. She takes a sucker from another desk and heads back to her seat. She walks kind of low so she doesn't block anyone view of the stage. She makes it to the aisle and sits down next to her mom who, luckily has her eyes closed and praying so she doesn't notice her. After the pastor says amen, her mother turns to her faster than expected. "What took you so long?" Her mom asks. "I went to the bathroom." Jalyn lies. 'Dang, lying in Church too? Shame.' Her mom nods and turns back to her bible.
