Jalyn gets out of the car and closes the door behind her. Jungkook scoffs from the inside and and then gets out of the car on his own side. "Hey!" He yells at Jalyn. "What?" She asks. "I was about to get out the car, but then you shut the door in my face." He says. Jalyn looks at the car and then back at him. "Oh... Sorry." She tells him. "Yeah, whatever." Jungkook goes to the trunk of the car and pulls the lever, but it doesn't open. So he hits his hand on the back of the car to get the driver's attention. "Hey! Can you pop the trunk so we can get our luggage?" Jungkook asks. The man in the drivers seat looks in the rear view mirror and smiles and nods at Jungkook. Jungkook just smiles back as he waits. Then he hears the engine on the car start up and he frowns. "Why is he starting the car?" He asks. "What do you mean?" Jalyn asks looking in her purse for something. Jungkook starts walking to the passenger side of the car to knock on the window. "You don't need to start a car to open the trunk." He says. He gets all the way to the passenger window and bends down to look inside. Jungkook knocks on the window and the man looks over at him. "Hey, can you pop the trunk so we can get our luggage? I don't know if you didn't hear me clearly when I was back there or something, but-" Jungkook stops mid sentence when he sees the man give him a thumbs up. Jungkook opens his mouth and nods his head, "Oh okay, thank you." He says and slightly waves his hand. The man smiles and nods. Then steps on the gas, pulling off of the curb and driving away. "Aye! Wait a damn minute, I did not say leave!" Jungkook says waving his hand. "What the fuck!" Jalyn yells from the sidewalk. Jungkook groans frustrated and shakes his head. He then jumps off of the curb and runs down the street behind the car. The man looks in the rear view mirror and frowns. Then he presses on the gas even more. Jungkook continues running behind the car and waving his hand in the air. "No wait! I'm tryna get you to stop!" He yells. The car continues driving down the street and then makes a right turn, speeding up. Jungkook is out of breath and with every hard breath he takes his chest hurts even more. He turns the corner, but then sees that the car goes farther down the road, turning down an alley. He watches this and then stops running. He places his hands on his shoulders breathing hard, and then sits up, placing his arms over his head. He takes many deep breaths and then sighs, shaking his head. "What the heck." He whispers. Jungkook hears running footsteps coming from behind him and he turns around to see Jalyn running on the sidewalk and then coming to a stop. He walks over to her as he sees that she's also out of breath. "I'm guessing he got away." She says. Jungkook nods his head sadly and takes her hand in his. "You run too fast, you know that? It took me way too long to finally catch up to you, and that's when you stopped." She tells him. He just looks at their hands together and chuckles. "Sorry for leaving you." He says. "Don't apologize for that. You were trying to get our luggage back and I appreciate that." She tells him, and playfully leans on him. "But, you didn't HAVE to chase him down." Jalyn says. "What do you mean, what else was I going to do?" He asks. "Um..." Jalyn starts and takes out her phone from her pocket. She unlocks it and shows him the screen. "Take a picture of the license plate. Like a normal person." She says. Jungkook nods his head and looks away, "You're probably right." He says. "Now all we have to do is go to the police and then wait." Jalyn says. She turns around and then starts walking back towards the hotel. Jungkook doesn't follow her, so she turns around to look at him. "What are you doing?" She starts, "Come on." She finishes. "Where are we going?" He asks not moving. Jalyn raises her eyebrow in confusion, "The police station." She tells him slowly. "How are we gonna get there? My money's in my suitcase." He says. Jalyn looks at him, and then at her purse, and then back at the hotel, and then back at Jungkook. "I have money, but we could just walk anyway. It's not that far." She says. "How would you know? This is your first time in Houston." Jungkook says. "You're right, it is... But! There is a hotel right there, so we can ask directions." She says pointing behind her. Jungkook scoffs and looks into the distance. Jalyn turns around again and begins walking as she was before. "Hopefully it's not that far," she whispers to herself. "What was that?" Jungkook asks from behind her. "What? Nothing!" She tells and starts walking faster. Jungkook frowns and then walks faster as well to keep up with her. "Why are you walking so fast?" He asks. "I'm walking so fast because I wanna hurry up and get my stuff back." She says. "The station is far away isn't it?" Jungkook asks. "What? No." Jalyn says. Jungkook speeds up to get closer to Jalyn. "Are you lying?" He asks. "No!... I don't know, I've never been here before!" She says nervously. Jungkook gasps and stops walking, "You ARE lying." He says. Jalyn stops as well and faces him, "I'm not lying! I just said that I don't know!" She yells. "Okay, okay, calm down!" He yells back. "I cant calm down, you just yelled at me!" She says. "Only 'cause you were yelling at me!" He says defensively. "I only yelled at you because you accused me of lying!" She yells. "Well you kinda di-" Jungkook get cut off by Jalyn's random groan and a scream. "No I didn't!" She yells louder than before. Jungkooks eyebrows raise and he holds up his hands, surrendering. "Okay, okay, you didn't. Calm down." He says. "Quit telling me to fucking calm down!" She says pointing at him. Jungkooks eyes travel to the hotel as he sees random people coming out of it and slowing down to look at them weirdly. "People are looking at us," he tells her. Jalyn rolls her eyes and sighs frustrated, "Of course they are." She says. She turns around to see a family of five looking at her as they walk to the curb, slowly. Jalyn squints at them, "Are you enjoying the show?" She asks. They make confused faces so she drops her arms to her sides as she decides to clarify. "Are you enjoying, the fucking argument?! Is my yelling entertaining to you?!" She asks them again. They actually look at her and their expressions change as they shake their heads and walk down the street. Jalyn makes a disgusted face and turns back to Jungkook, "Damn," she whispers irritated. Jungkook looks at her with a new kind of look on his face. "What?" She asks. "Was that really necessary?" He asks. "Excuse me?" He points to the family that just walked away. "That, was yelling that them necessary?" He asks. "Why?" She asks. "Just seemed kinda.... Rude, I guess." He says. Jalyn squints at him as well and then looks all over the place to think. 'What the hell?' "I know you not asking that," she says. "What do you mean?" He asks. "Out of all of the shit you've done and said to people over the amount of time that I have known you, -and it could be more because I'm not always around- But you be rude as fuck to people, including me. So don't say shit to me when I go off every once in a while." Jungkook starts to say something, but then Jalyn cuts him off with a scoff. She turns around and walks inside the hotel with Jungkook not far behind. She walks up to the desk and rings the little bell in the front. A middle aged woman turns around, stopping what she was doing, and walks over to the desk. "Yes, how may I help you today?" She asks. "I'm not here to check in a room or anything, right now. I was just wondering where the nearest police station is?" Jalyn asks. Jungkook stands a distance away from Jalyn, waiting for her. The lady sees him by the door just staring and looks at Jalyn worried. "Is it because of him?" She asks tilting her head toward Jungkook. Jalyn turns around to look at who she's talking about and then turns back, smiling lightly. "Oh, no, not at all." She says. 'Not yet anyway, just kidding! Maybe!" "Um, sure. It's just a few blocks down. Turn right when you exit, and continue walking straight down. You should see it if you just keep going." The lady says and smiles. "Thank you," Jalyn says and nods. She turns around, away from the desk and walks past Jungkook, out of the hotel doors. Jungkook continues to follow her. "Did she tell you where it was?" He asks as they walk. "Yeah, but, you'd probably think I was lying if I told you." Jalyn says. Jungkook smacks his lips together, "Just tell me if she said it or not." He says. Jalyn shakes her head and shrugs her shoulders. "Nah, we'll see if she did. Imma just keep walking." She says. "You're being difficult," Jungkook tells her. Jalyn tenses up but keeps walking. "Good... I don't wanna be easy." She says. "That's not what I meant," He says. "You know what? Honestly, I don't care what you meant." "You know what I meant," he says trying to fend for himself. "No, I didn't. But, I don't expect you to believe that." Jalyn says. "Okay, damn! I get it! Can you stop mentioning it now?" He starts walking next to her. "Stop mentioning it? Jungkook, it happened like five seconds ago! You're acting like it's some grudge I've been holding since last year." "It feels like you are!" He says. "I guess that's pretty tough for you then huh?" She asks. Jungkook takes a deep breath while looking at her and then closes his eyes. "You know what? It's whatever. I really don't care anymore. You know you was lying." He says. "Bro... shut the fuck up before I slap the shit out of you." Jalyn threatens. "Go ahead, then I'll have two reasons to go to the police station." Jungkook says and shrugs. "Good!" Jalyn says. Jungkook rolls his eyes and then walks ahead of Jalyn. "What are you doing? You don't even know where you're going." She asks him. "You're right, I don't know. But did you see how I didn't have to lie about it though?" He asks with slight agressiveness in his tone. "Stop accusing me of lying!" She yells. "I'm not ACCUSING you of anything. I am saying the truth, unlike some people." He says and continues walking. Jalyn puts her hands on her hips and chuckles. "You funny," she says. "I know, but I ain't telling no jokes right now." "That was sarcasm." Jalyn says. "Was it? I thought you were telling the truth for once." Jungkook says. Jalyn presses her tongue on the inside of her mouth, copying Jungkooks habit. He glances at her for a second to see what she's doing and he throws his hands in the air. "Great! Now she stealing shit too. Just sinning all around." He says. Jalyn stops pressing her tongue against her cheek and bites her lip angrily. "Shut up! That's why you lost your phone and your money!" She yells. "Wow, look at that, a fact came from her mouth." Jungkook says and claps. "Thank you for reminding me of the obvious!" He yells back. He turns back around and continues walking ahead of Jalyn. Jalyn waits for a little bit before she heads toward the police station again. 'I don't necessarily want to be close to him right now.'
A few minutes later...
Jalyn arrives at the police station and opens the door, walking through it. As she walks up to the front desk, she sees Jungkook turn around to face her. She rolls her eyes and scoots over to the next person at the desk. "Hi," the officer says and smiles kindly. "Hi," Jalyn responds with a smile as well. Jungkook looks back and forth at them with a frown on his face. 'What the hell is this?' "What can I do for you today miss?" The officer asks. Jalyn keeps the kind smile on her face as she reaches in her purse and takes out her phone. She goes to her photos and shows the officer the picture of the license plate. "I took an Uber, to the hotel a couple blocks down. And when we tried to get our bags-" "Wait, hold on a second... We?" The officer interrupts. "Yes, me and my boyfriend, right there." She says pointing to Jungkook. "Ah, I see. Continue," He says. "Anyway, when we tried to get our bags, the trunk wasn't opening, and when he tried to get the driver's attention, he drove off. Even after he repeatedly asked him to open the trunk. Now our luggage and technology and money, is gone." She tells the officer. "Okay, show me the license plate again." The officer says. Jalyn holds up her phone to his face. He nods and then types in the numbers in his computer and scrolls for a little while. After a moment, he looks back up at Jalyn. "Okay, the report has been filed. I just need your name and phone number so we can contact you when we find him." He tells her. Jalyn nods and then asks, "Are you ready?" The officer nods. "My first name is Jalyn, J-A-L-Y-N, last name Jeon, J-E-O-N." Jungkook looks at her surprised and confused. "What the," he whispers. "Phone number?" The officer asks. Jalyn tells him her number and then takes back her phone, putting it into her purse. "Okay, thank you. We will contact you when we find out more information." The officer says. "Okay, thank you." "Have a nice day." He says and smiles. "You too," Jalyn says. They both smile at each other before Jalyn turns around and starts to leave the station. Jungkook scurries behind her and cuts her off, running on front of her. "Wait," he says. Jalyn looks into his eyes irritated. "What?" She asks. "Why did you use my last name?" He asks. "Because," Jalyn says. "Because what?" Jungkook asks. "Because my last name is embarrassing, and yours is easier. Happy?" She asks. Except she doesn't wait for an answer, she pushes past him and walks to the door. He runs in front of her, stopping her again. "Where are you going?" He asks. Jalyn looks at him sadly and then snorts, laughing out loud. "Boy, I'm not broke, and I did not get my money stolen. I am going right back to that hotel to get a room." She tells him. "Oh, okay." He says relieved. Jalyn nods her head and walks out of the building. She walks down the street for a while with Jungkook following her. She later realizes it and turns around. "What are you doing?" She asks him. "Um, going to the hotel as well." He says. "You got hotel money?" She asks. "Well no, but I thought that-" "You thought that I was... What? Gonna pay for a room for the both of us?" Jalyn asks. Jungkook presses his lips together and looks everywhere but at Jalyn. Jalyn shakes her head and walks up to Jungkook. "You promised that you would never yell at me again... You broke your promise." She says. Jungkook tilts his head and then nods it understanding. She walks closer up to him and then grabs his hands. "But, a lot of relationships are full of broken promises and lies." She says. Jungkook raises his eyebrows and looks her in the eyes. "That doesn't mean that I forgive you though," Jalyn says and let's go of his hands, then she walks away with her back towards him. Jungkook watches her walk away and walk inside the building. He stands there in shock and worry. 'Where the hell am I gonna stay for tonight? Alone' Realizing that he's in his thoughts he looks up just in time to see Jalyn pop her head out the door to the hotel. "I'm not gon' let you be homeless for the night either. Come on boy!" She tells him and waves her hand towards herself. Jungkook smiles and runs up to her, and they both walk inside the hotel.
