"Wake up sleepyhead, the weekend's over and sadly it's Monday." I grabbed one of my pillows and covered my head trying to go back to sleep.
"Mom am sleeping." I heard her scoff.
"Not anymore, now get up. I don't need another 'Tamika-is-late-again' call from your principal." My mom dreaded speaking to my principal, something to do with their old days or something. " I'm off too work, your father has a business trip and won't be back till next week. He says he loves you." She kissed me on my forehead.
"Dad's gone again!?! Wasn't he just on one the other week!?!" I lifted the pillow from my face. When it comes to daddy am always on the alert. I loved both my parents but my dad; we just had that extra special connection.
"You know your father. Anyways I don't wanna be late for work and neither should you. I made breakfast. See you later Tami." She rubbed my arm and left.
I heard her pull out of the driveway as I dragged myself up from my bed. "Fuck I hate Mondays." I mumbled under my breath. Back to the snobby bitches looking down on others like they're any better, the way obnoxious boys who thinks the own the school and my ohhhh so lovely principal.
I ran into the bathroom and took a quick shower. I quickly brushed my teeth and now my hair. My way too curly and short natural hair. "You kinky son of a bitch aren't you." Sometimes I envied the girls with the smooth 'I-dont-need-to-do-much-in-my-hair' type of hair. I practically disliked everything about me. I had no time to flat iron it so I just picked it out, place a band around me head and left it afro style.
I slipped on a black and red sundress which matched my band and shoes too match. I love red and black though, anything dark really. And headed downstairs.
The house is so quiet, sometimes I wonder how it would feel to have little siblings. I went straight to the kitchen and grabbed the well packed breakfast my mom made me and placed it in my bag. She knew me too well. I took my car keys and headed out into the garage.
"Good morning baby." I looked at my shiny red ultima my daddy got me for my 16th birthday; I love my car. I slid in and started the engine and the loud sound of Nicki Minaj superbass filled the air. And drove off too school.

It was only a 25 minutes drive, and at the speed I went I made it to school in 5 minutes less. I parked and headed towards the school yard. It was filled with us less chattering of teens. Giggling of cheerleaders nearby. Rowdy chattering of boys. This was too much for me I rushed up the stairs and into the hallway.
I was bumped in every direction. Most of them on purpose. I finally got to my locker; my first class was science, so I pulled out my science books.
"Tami!!" I heard a way too squeaky voice and recognized it right away. Lucy. She was one of my bestfriends apart from Gina. These two were my only friends to be honest. And we were almost different and similar at the same time.
Lucy all brightly colored, her long curly hair bounced as she ran towards me and gave me a bone breaking hug.
"You're breaking me." I croaked. And in an instance she held me at arms length. " Where's Gina?"
" She's probably with Samson." She shrugged her blue eyes wide with wonder. Today she dressed in a similar sundress as I have but only hers was red and pink, with shoes to match. Her brown curly hair flowed down her back.
I closed my locker as she dragged me towards the science lab.
Samson was Gina's boyfriend and my cousin, they were disgustingly cute. Samson was tall, muscular, very athletic, got a lot of spunk and a pest, but what can I say my girl loves him and so does he love her.
