Chapter 29

Welcome to Chapter 29 - sorry for the delay in updating, I didn't realise how long it had been - here is the new chapter, enjoy!!!

Sheriff POV

Now if you would have told me that I would be standing here pointing a gun at my own son, I would have called you crazy.

Yet here I am with a gun aimed directly at my son, who was stood with a sly smile on his face while his eyes blaze with purple fire. I step in time with Scott as he moves closer to him as he realises who was stood in front of us and I felt my blood turn to ice as he says a name I never wished to hear again.

"Well done Scott, you figured it out quicker then last time. But still not quick enough to save Stiles, I am afraid." Void states and my heart drops as he speaks.

"What do you mean? What have you done to my son?" I scream at him gripping the hold on my gun tighter as my hand starts to shake.

I feel a hand grab mine that was currently pointing the gun at my own son and slowly take it out of my hand, I look over to who it was and saw Lydia carefully handing it over to Parrish who holsters it and I can't help but break down in her arms.

"Please give me my son back, haven't you done enough to him already?" I state towards Void who just stares at me with his cold expression.

"Remember the last time we were face to face Scott, not the time you killed me but the time we all went to Bardo?" Void asks ignoring me and staring directly at Scott.

"I remember, it is not something I am going to forget in a hurry." Scott advises but didn't elaborate, I realised that none of them ever mentioned what happened while they were here.

All they advised was Void was defeated, Stiles was going to be okay after some rest and Aiden was killed before all the Oni could be defeated.

"Remember what I said to Stiles on that day about what he needed to do save those who was touched by the blade? The only way to truly defeat me is for the ritual to be completed." Void laughs out and I am confused over what he is talking about.

"Did you really think it was going to be so easy just to defeat me by changing the host? You forgot the key part, I am a thousand years old, don't you think people have found the scroll before and tried to use it against me" Void explains pulling out Percy's sword Riptide.

"Scott, what is he talking about?" Annabeth asks as she steps next to me and Lydia as I stand straight again, staring myself towards Scott curious about what he was on about.

"The Ritual of Seppuku." Scott advises his eyes still glued on to Void watching every move he made, as he spoke I heard Poseidon and Chiron drawn in a deep breath.

"What is the Ritual of Seppuku?" Parrish asks him and I am grateful for him asking as I didn't really want to know but gathered I needed to.

"When a samurai disembowels himself with his own sword to maintain his honour, but that's not the cut that kills him. The killing stroke is made by his kaishakunin, who beheads the samurai with his own katana. Who did I choose as Stiles's kaishakunin, Scott?" Void answers first while twirling Percy's sword in his hands.

"Me! You wanted me to kill my best friend but Stiles pulled a Divine Move on you instead, so you were the one who died and not him." Scott states growling slightly as I noticed his eyes flashing red.

"Bingo! Now its time for you to complete your duty." Void states throwing the sword towards Scott who catches it before placing it on the table.

"No! I will not kill my best friend, there is another way to defeat you once and for all without anymore death or chaos." Scott states removing his hand from the sword that lay on the table and looking back towards Void.

Void glares at Scott before his face changes to a face of agony as he collapses to his knees gripping his head, I stand frozen to the spot not knowing what to do, as in pain in front of me is both my son and the enemy.

Void raises his head up and I can see his eyes flashing from purple to a sea green to a golden brown, Stiles and Percy were fighting back internally against Void.

"Come on boys, you can do it!" I state moving slightly forward reaching my hand out to comfort him but I was held back by Scott and Poseidon.

"Sheriff, what are you doing?" Scott asks me, while looking at me like I had completely lost the plot.

"His eyes, they are changing colours from Void to Stiles to Percy's eye colour. I think they are trying to fight him from inside his own head." I state nodding towards Void who was still on his knees with his eyes flashing.

"Wise Girl, save me!" Void spoke but his voice was Percy's voice breaking through not Void's voice.

"Seaweed brain, is that really you?" Annabeth asks stepping in line with me, Scott and Poseidon, her eyes staring directly into the sea green eyes staring back from Void's face.

"I can't hold him back for long while still protecting Stiles from the torture that Void is doing. Scott, trust us and complete the Ritual, Annabeth you need to be the kaishakunin for me as you are the only one who knows my weak spot." Percy winces out as the pain flashes over his face with his eyes briefly flashing back to purple.

"Percy I can't do this, please don't let me lose you again." Annabeth shouts at him as tears pour down her face.

"The cursed blade shall reap his soul!" Percy states with a gasp of breathe as his body begins to shake and his eyes flash different colours again until they land on the familiar colour of Stiles's eyes.

"Scott, save me!" Stiles screams out as tears came down his face as his eyes land on us, his face full of pain

"Stiles, is that really you? Are you okay?" Scott asks his voice shaking as though he knew like I did what Stiles was going to answer.

"I'm fine, ahhh." Stiles screams out again in reply to the question while gritting his teeth.

"I don't have much time but trust me and Percy and complete the Ritual, you were chosen to complete this task and I am sorry for that, but it has to be you. Please do it, I can't hold on any longer." Stiles breathes out before his eyes start flashing again.
