Chapter 27

It was a few minutes before five o' clock in the afternoon. Because she was efficient, Iris had been done with all of her tasks and was just wasting time by reading an online novel on her laptop.

Ofcourse, no one around her knew this as she still looked like she was working hard.

"Did we receive our salary?" She heard a co-worker ask and Iris' ears unconsciously perked up.

"I haven't checked yet. But it should be there. Our company is never late in giving us our pay." Another one answered.

Iris licked her lips and, very discreetly, looked at the balance in her bank card.

Hmm let's see. I will receive the full month salary and the incentive bonus. She thought as she counted the numbers in her balance. Then I will receive the annual bonus soon. My golly I am so rich now! Iris' eyes sparkled.

Since I am currently rich I should take my sexy darling out. Maybe he'll give me that....thing again tonight. She inwardly but obscenely laughed.

Thus, Iris sent Elliot a text message. This was the first time that she would send him a text after getting his phone number. So Iris spent a few minutes composing her message.

At first, she wrote, "I have a reward for you for today.. but you must reward me tonight ;)" but deleted it as she thought that it might be too daring. After all, they just spent their first..sexy time last night.

Then, she wrote, "Is your dad a terrorist? Cause you're the bomb." Iris almost sent it. However, she deleted it at the last second when she thought that Elliot had never mentioned his father. If Elliot didn't have a father.. then her pick up line would just be a disaster line.

In the end, Iris settled for a normal message and sent, "Hubby, your wife will treat you for the dinner tonight.♡"

Iris was feeling giddy as she watched her phone to wait for Elliot's reply. However, before she received a reply, she heard her co-worker calling for her.

Elliot hadn't moved from the moment he sat on his chair. He looked like a very busy chairman of a large conglomerate. However, Sean, his secretary, knew that he was busy with something else.

On top of Elliot's table was a large screen showing a CCTV footage of a beautiful girl typing something on her phone. Elliot smiled when he saw her sneakily look left and right to check if anyone was near her.

"Boss.. about the chain of hotels in the east coast.. the president of the AA company wants to discuss it again with you." Sean carefully said. In truth, he had been waiting for the time when Elliot was in a good mood before he brought it up.

"Didn't I tell you to cancel it?" Elliot's brows were furrowed but he didn't look away from the screen.

"Well.. can you reconsider? We already put so much effort and resources in this project." Sean pleaded.

However, Elliot didn't answer him. Instead, he took his phone and checked the message that was just sent to him.

"Hubby, your wife will treat you for the dinner tonight.♡"

Elliot smiled widely which made Sean's sweat to drop. He had been on Elliot's side for years and he never saw him smile like that before.

His mind had always depicted Elliot as the reincarnated demon king. Thus, his smile made Sean want to run away for his life.

In fact, he was about to excuse himself when he heard Elliot said, "Alright. You can proceed with the contract." before standing up and hurriedly walking out of the office.

"Uhm. Hello." Iris said as she looked at the young man in front of her. He was tall and destructively handsome. His facial structure looked similar to Elliot, except that he looked younger.

She just sent a message to Elliot when her co-worker told her that someone was looking for her. Actually, the whole office was sent into a frenzy when the young man arrived. Iris knew that it was because of the young man's looks and aura that made everyone feel like they wanted to prostrate themselves in front of him. Of course, this could also be because the young man looked almost exactly as Elliot. Iris could bet 1/10 of her salary that her co-workers must be thanking the heavens for sending not just one.. but two gods of beauties on earth!

The young man just gave her a look for a few seconds before the tips of his lips titled for a little bit. Iris' heart beat faster.

They are surely related. My little heart can't also handle his smile. Iris thought as she tried her best to awkwardly return the young man's smile.

Then, the young man stared at the phone she was holding before lifting a brow. Iris felt like, in that instant, the young man knew everything that was inside her phone.

"Grab a bite with me?" The young man suddenly spoke. His voice was also similar to Elliot. Both were low and melodic.

Iris bit her lower lip. She was 99% sure that this handsome young man was a younger close relative of her sexy husband. However, she felt authority in his voice as if he was an old man talking to the younger generation.

"Ah. That would be nice. But, I have to wait for my husband.. We promised to have dinner together." Iris slowly replied.

"That's fine. He will definitely follow us." Was all the young man said before he turned around and walked away, as if he expected Iris to follow him.

Iris thought for a second before she took her bag and waved her co-workers goodbye.
