"You have forgotten."

Lilly

Lucas opens the door of my bedroom and, like a king, strides confidently inside.

I know that he just took my key from my pocket. But why is it that I can't stop blushing from the contact? Did my mind become dirty? I swear I thought that his fingers linger a second longer inside my pocket, trying to find my key.

Shaking my head to get rid of the dirty thoughts, I walk in my room. Lucas is ready and immediately closes the door the moment I come in. Ethan and the others are left outside.

"This room smells like you." Lucas says which makes me realize that we are now inside my small and cramped bedroom.

The place is so little that two people with a few things just managed to fit in.

The makeshift bed takes most of the space. On the far corner are my kitchen stuff which mostly consists of one burner gas stove, one pan, two plates, a mug and two pieces each of spoons and forks. On the other side are my battered, old clothes.

As there are no chairs, I ask Lucas to sit on the makeshift bed at the floor. Lucas takes out his shoes and readily sits on it. Then, he comfortably crosses his legs.

Lucas is a big man so he mostly takes all of the space already. Having him in this room made the room tinier.

"Sorry, it's really tiny here." I say in a small voice. My place is the exact opposite of his mansion-like pack house. Even the toilet of my room there is bigger than this whole room.

"It's smaller than I thought." Lucas replies. "But it smells very much like you so I'm not complaining."

As if he wants to prove that he isn't complaining, Lucas lays on the bed and closes his eyes while taking in deep breaths.

There is a little smile forming on his usually stoic face. He looks like a man who came home after long years of staying outside.

Lucas is normally an extremely good looking guy, but his appearance right now with his eyes closed and smiling is like an ethereal beauty. He looks like a male god of beauty who came to earth to capture the hearts of all the maiden. I just want to keep looking at him and appreciate this view. For the first time ever, I regret that I do not have a camera to permanently capture this moment.

Maybe sensing that I remain motionless, Lucas opens his eyes and stares deeply into mine.

My heart beats erratically by that look he's giving me.

"Why do you remain standing there?" His husky voice slowly says. "Won't you join me?" He continues with a lower voice.

His almost whisper does the job and almost melts me into a puddle. I carefully sit on the corner of the bed. The space between us is obvious.

Lucas did not comment on it. However, the fire in his eyes noticeably becomes dimmer. It lasts only for a second before he immediately closes his eyes as if to hide something.

"Lilly." He calls my name and my heart is astonished with how broken he sounded.

Did I hurt him when I sat away from him? But that's because he looks so intense that my knees turned jelly.

"You have forgotten." He softly whispers and even his voice broke at the end. His eyes are still closed and his face is not wearing any expressions again. But he sounded so lonely and broken that my heart instantly shattered.

I have forgotten? Lucas.. what did I forget?

"Lucas I-" I am about to ask him what he is talking about when he suddenly opens his eyes.

"You have forgotten to call me when your hostile father showed up. You should think about calling me first when you meet any danger." He says. His voice is devoid of any sadness like he had earlier.

"I would have come and kicked his ass before he got a chance to spurt some nonsense." He adds with a smirk. He looks playful and energetic.

However, I can't still forget the way he sounded earlier.

Broken. Melancholic. Desperate.

I search his eyes and find none of these traces in it. His eyes even contain some teasing expression.

"Now you have to make up to me. Come give me a kiss." He teasingly tells me.

Lucas.. you are excellent in hiding it. But.. why is it that I feel that you are wrenched inside?

My body moves on it's own. Not that I don't want this, but it's like I didn't think before doing this.

I move next to Lucas and put his head in between my arms. I am crouching down at him since he is laying down. My hair falls like a curtain, isolating our faces.

Lucas looks surprised for a second before he adopts a teasing look.

"I'm ready for my kiss anytime." He boldly declares as he stares into my eyes.

His.. eyes. Why do I feel like they are trying to hide something from me. Why do I feel that he is suffering from the inside?

I put both of my hands to cover his face. His eyes, his whole upper face that seems like a wall. A shield which I can't penetrate even how hard I look. Only his mouth and his chin are visible to me.

Lucas takes a deep breath at my action. He seems to be really surprised but he didn't do anything to stop me.

"Your eyes are deceiving me." I whisper to him. "You are.. hurting." I add.

I see Lucas' lips tremble at my words. Something clenches hard on my heart upon seeing it.

"Lucas.." I call his name before I descend my lips to his.

My lips tremble when it makes contact with Lucas'. Lucas stays still and lets me kiss him at my own pace. I nervously move my lips against him.

I don't know if I am doing it right. I am not an expert kisser. In fact, I am new to kissing. This is the first time I ever initiated a kiss. My heart beats so fast that I can even hear my ears pulsating.

Bu... I want to kiss him. I want to comfort him. I want to share his pain and tell him he is not alone.

Lucas slightly opens his mouth and moves his lips with mine. Different from how he kissed me before, Lucas seems to be clumsier in this kiss. Still, my usually expressionless mate who seems to remain nonchalant no matter what happens is returning my kiss with such an overflowing emotion.
