Chapter Sixteen

 I Like What I See

Lucas

A strong gust of wind is felt in the field but the area where my Lilly is standing is completely calm. It looks like the wind is approaching her with care, like the wind doesn't want to accidentally hurt her. The strands of her hair is dancing with the wind, dazzling the hell out of me. Involuntarily, I feel myself smirk. This imp, I truly cannot beat you.

The pack members sitting on the ground all realize that something out of ordinary is going on and became distracted. Still, a few of them who stayed in their meditation state. Suddenly, everyone felt a deep sense of energy. Some of the pack members, especially the young ones, start to panic.

After a few seconds, the strong gust of wind calmed down and my mate opens her eyes. She surveys the area, looking mesmerized. Her eyes are twinkling as if she is looking at the sparkling stars. I feel my heart skip a bit at how mesmerizing she looks.

The pack members are looking at her and although she looks back at them, it seems like she is not seeing them.

"That little guy with blonde curly hair in front of the first group has an enormous green and blue color surrounding him." I hear my mate whisper.

The pack members, who are already watching my mate look at where she pointed. I also follow the direction she is pointing with her finger and see Ethan, the blondie pup. Ethan looks around him before he points at himself, asking if his Luna is talking about him.

Then, Lilly glances at the group of little pups in front of the pack house. These are the group of young girls who were giggling at us when I was trying to kiss my mate.

"That girl who has strawberry hair on the far corner also has multiple colors dancing around her." I glance at where she is pointing and see a young little pink pup who is still below fifteen and is yet to meet her wolf. The young little pink pup takes an involuntary step back. I smirk as I realize why my adorable mate is pointing at her.

However, other pack members do not know the reasons and knit their brows in confusion.

Lilly glances back at the first group and stares at the good-looking black haired pup in the middle of the group. The impertinent black pup rudely stares back at her.

"That guy with black hair too. He got red and faint blue colors around him." My mate say.

Right now, most of the pack members are starting to murmur to each other in confusion. They must be wondering what is my Luna is doing.

On my part, I am more than happy. Three wolves already, huh? This is more than I am expecting.

Then, my mate set her glance on the next group. She stays quiet for a while before looking into the next group.

"What about Tristan?" I ask her, I can't help but be curious when she saw nothing on him. Tristan is a very powerful werewolf. He is even much more powerful than his father. Moreover, I feel that his wolf is strong enough to control the energies. Thus, I am quite confident that he should be able to control the energies of the world.

Lilly looks back at Tristan, and Tristan who heard my query to Lilly gulps.

Lilly takes her time looking at Tristan until perspiration can be clearly seen on his forehead. After a while, my lovely mate's eyes widen.

"This.. Tristan has a faint black color around him." My mate tries to softly whispers to me, but I'm sure that everyone hears it too.

I raise my brow at that. Black, huh? So that's why it felt kind of strange.

This may be quite a problem.

Tristan is also confused for a while before he displays a resolute look on his face. This made me smile a bit. This, Tristan, is a goofy guy. I better keep a closer eye on him.

For the last time, Lilly's eyes scan everyone. Then, she sighs and looks at me. Immediately, her eyes widen with surprise. Her mouth forms a cute little 'o' while she stares dumbfounded at me.

I turn my body and let her stare all she wants as I give her a small smirk.

I totally know why she is dumbfounded.

"Like what you see?" I ask her.

"Yes." She involuntarily answers before she realizes it. I almost laugh out loud at her reaction.

"Why thank you. I like what I see too." I tell her. She gives me a flustered look which I thoroughly enjoy. My mate takes a while before she's able to calm herself.

"Around you.." She starts telling me. "The bright red color around you is overwhelming."

Of course, it should be, love. I wonder how dumbfounded she will be if I stop restraining myself? But... I shouldn't probably show off to her unless I want to eat dirt later.

After I take my time admiring my mate before I turn my attention to the pack.

Four people. One pink pup without a wolf yet. This isn't bad at all.

"I want all of those who was mentioned by your Luna to come forward." I tell them.

Ethan and Tristan walk forward without hesitation. The black pup looks annoyed but still walks forward. The pink pup isn't sure at first if she should come to us, but Tristan gives her a look and she immediately run while almost tripping herself.

I look at the four as they stand in line in front of me. Good. This will save so much time and effort. Great job, Lilly.

"All of you can stop meditating now, but continue later an hour before sleeping. Every week, we will confirm if you are successful."

"Alpha, does that mean that we have no chance at controlling this energy?" Peters asks.

"Most probably. But it's not impossible." I directly tell him.

"The colors Lilly said are most likely the energies." "Like I say earlier, it will take more than hard work to do it, you must be able to use the power of your wolf in your human form, and most won't be able to do it." I tell them.

"But it is merely your first try, I want you all to continue doing your best. The possibility is slight, but I want you all to work hard."

"Also, even if you are not capable of controlling energies, it doesn't mean that you can't do anything at all."

I look at Annie who is clearly disappointed. However, she straightens her back when she sees my glance on her.

"Annie. I want you to lead the pack and train them in your human form. You must be able to fight using weapons to crush those hearts."

By now I hear groans and low growls.

The pack's human bodies are naturally stronger and sturdier than ordinary humans. However, the pack mostly relies on their wolf's strength so they neglected training their own body. Naturally, there will be complains. Also, their wolves are clearly unhappy that their alpha thinks that their strength is not enough.

Well, it can't be helped.

I let some of my aura leak and their wolves immediately shut up.

I feel Lilly walk behind me and grab the hem of my shirt. She looks pale and I curse inside.

She is still recovering from overusing her energy and I forced her to use her power again. I got excited knowing that she can see the energies but didn't think that it might take a toll on her.

I move fast and carry her in my arms before a second is gone.

Lilly is startled by my actions as she blushes furiously.

This is the third time that I had to carried her in my arms, and all three times was because she is unwell. This time, I sworn loudly.

I will make sure that the next time I'll carry her, it's not because she's hurt.

I dip my head and capture her lips with mine. I feel her gasp and press my lips harder.

When I finally raise my head, I see her eyes are wide and her cheeks are burning red. She covers her lips with her tiny hands and I internally chuckle. She looks shell shocked.
