I feel a slight fluctuation in the west. It is much concealed but was emitted when the group set out for the human city.

The truth is, the enemy dispatched a small group to the humans, but kept most of his troops hidden and ready to attack us once we took the bait and set out to protect the humans.

"Tane?" My Lilly asks as she sneakily moves my hand away from her bosom. She tries to conceal it but traces of pink start to manifest on her cheeks. Although Luna has regained her memory and authority, she is still my same adorable girl who gets shy whenever she thinks I touch her "intimately" in public.

I chuckle at her internal struggle. I know that as a queen, she thinks that being shy because of some public display of affection makes her less dignified. However, she can't help but still feel shy as I publicly show my love for her. So, she just tries to hide it by pretending that she is not shy at all. Just to tease her, I move my hand higher to where it was previously placed.

We have expected the enemy to act this way so the were-council accordingly ordered Tane to keep his trackers nearby. We are just waiting for them to make a small move so we can point where their base is.

Suddenly, with the intention to answer Lilly's question, the fourth elder appears in front of us.

"Alpha. Luna."

"Fourth elder." Lilly softly greets him back as she pretends to hold my hands just to prevent me from bringing them up again near her bosom.

"Alpha Tane has tracked a large group of rogues and "were-likes" in the southwest border. They are around five hundred kilometers away." The fourth elder reports while pretending that he doesn't notice our little play. I smirk at the young ones' reaction.

Lilly blushes more as she notices how the fourth elder pretends to be blind.

"Lucas felt a small movement towards human territory. It seems like a diversion. They are leaving a large army on our southwest to attack us. But I think that that is not the enemy's main force." Lilly says with a serious voice.

"Is it a diversion too, Luna?" The fourth elder replies.

"I know so. Isn't that right, Lucas?" Immediately, Lilly turned to face me effectively leaving my clutches. I just chuckle and let her go this time.

"I can confirm that there is a concealed ripple of energy from the north."

"I feel that the enemy took his strongest troops and planned to attack us from behind while we attack the large army." Lilly says before she immediately started to head over the middle of the clearing to call for a meeting.

"Lucas." My mate's sweet voice calls me as I remain sitting on a rock in front of the lake where we made love. I have made a barrier over this area to prevent anyone from coming here except for my Lilly.

I heavily sigh and refuse to look at my mate.

"I don't like your arrangement." I tell her.

In the last meeting, Lilly arranged a counterattack to defeat the enemy. Our forces will be divided by two.

The main force will meet the enemy's main force directly. As per Tane's report, the latter consists of five thousand "were-likes" and forty thousand rouges. This force is enough to endanger the werekind to the brink of extinction. As such, Lilly appointed me to lead this army to extinguish the enemy.

As for her, she will ambush the black sorcerer and his pack of elite troops with the were-council. The were-council's combined strength is tremendous. Along with Lilly's strength, this is a deadly strength that can topple even the strongest being.

However, I don't like the idea of being away from her in this war.

"I know." She answers as I feel her tiny arms wrapping around my shoulders from behind. My tensed body visibly relaxes at her touch.

"I don't want to be apart from you." I stubbornly tell her as I feel her head on my shoulder.

"But, you are needed to protect the wolves. Don't worry, I will not endanger myself." She whispers back.

I hold her arms and pull her into my lap.

"You can't." I sternly look into her eyes. "You can't endanger yourself. I will not allow you." Lilly looks surprised as this is the first time in both our lives that I ordered her to do something. She is the queen above all and no one dares to tell her what to do. Until today.

However, instead of being angry, her eyes look at me tenderly as she gives me a loving smile.

"I promise you. I will not endanger myself." She softly vows.

Luna, the queen, never promised anything. Her vow is something that is meant to never be broken. If this is broken, it will bring terrifying harm to the whole werekind. Hence, she never promised anything in her previous life.

But Lilly, my sweet mate, obediently promised me in order to reassure me.

My heart beats fast as I see my beautiful mate finally says the words I long for her to say.

I sigh and lovingly look at her. My heart is happy and content with her words because I know that she will never let herself be endangered.

"I love you." I confess to Lilly as I bare my heart to her.

My Lilly gives me a small smile before she replies, "I know. I love you too." She softly says before I lovingly kiss her lips.
