Chapter 37

The smoke was so heavy and it hampered Iris' sights. However, it was surprising that it didn't hamper her breathing. Aside from her blurry sights, Iris felt comfortable everywhere.

In fact, she felt so comfortable in Elliot's arms that she started to feel sleepy.

Since her eyes hurt from the smoke, Iris just decided to close them and focused on her breathing.

She smelled Elliot's scent. It was a little minty and smelled so good. Iris couldn't help but to sniff his chest more.

His arms were so comfortable too. He was holding her in such a manner that she couldn't even feel the sway when he walked.

So, in the end, Iris fell asleep in Elliot's arms as he walked in the middle of a raging fire.

Elliot scanned his surroundings. He looked like he was slowly walking in the room full of fire. However, no one knew that the building and the surrounding radius were completely under his control.

He set up a barrier the moment he and Iris entered the premises and he knew all of the movements of everyone inside it. Thus, he knew it the moment the human spy acted abnormally. From the way he moved, Elliot deducted that explosives were previously planted in the building. He immediately mindlinked Sean to escort everyone to safety.

Truthfully, these kinds of explosives didn't pose him any threat. However, he couldn't act freely. To conserve and protect the balance of the world, the werekinds were prohibited from exposing their powers and identity to the humans.

Thus, Elliot could only act stealthy .

Elliot sensed three humans spies in the building, masquerading themselves as guests. He also sensed five suspicious humans in a vehicle outside the compound.

Elliot and his people acted so fact. In just five steps that he took, all of them were already apprehended. Aside from that, he controlled the fire to be still and not move. Because of this, everyone safely went out of the building.

Of course, he could just extinguish the fire in an instant. However, the humans would create a ruckus when they notice that the big fire suddenly extinguishes on itself. That was why, he could only slowly lessen the fire as he waited for the human fire trucks.

He gently squeezed his wife who was lying in his arms. Iris looked so peaceful. Her eyes were closed and she was not afraid at all. Elliot smiled as he lowered his head to kiss her forehead.

Thus, in the middle of a sea of fire, one could see a man standing as he gently placed a kiss on the woman in his embrace.

Everyone was outside as they looked at the prestigious building being consumed with fire. The authorities were alerted and firefighters were already present. Fortunately, the fire seemed to be dying fast.

Some of the humans were confused. After all, they all heard the intensity of the earlier blasts. Still, they looked around them and saw the men in black suits who were carefully attending to everyone and sighed. Liliana Corp. is really the top of its kind. To be able to safely secure everyone right away, it was very amazing.

On the side of the patrol cars, Sean just finished giving his statement to the police officers. The attack looked like planned and executed by a terrorist group. Thankfully, the club's management was excellent and no one was hurt. After that, he announced to everyone that the Liliana Corp. would be cooperating with the authorities to catch the terrorists. He also informed everyone that each one of them would receive a lifetime VIP card that they could use in all of the hotels, clubs, and resorts of the corporation. One should know that the said VIP card could not be easily obtained even with money. Because of this, many felt that experiencing the earlier attack was very much worth it.

Elliot, on the other hand, was in the backseat of a car. Iris was still in his arms and he was touching her face. It seemed that she was sleeping as she didn't have any response to Elliot's touch. Was she frightened earlier? Elliot thought as he worriedly kissed her lips.

"Immediately drive home." He ordered the driver as he started mindlinking the pack doctor.

"How is she?" Elliot softly asked as he held Iris' hand. They were in their room and Iris was tucked in their bed.

"She is fine. She just fell asleep although it looked like she had fainted." A woman's voice was heard. She paused before continuing. "In her current condition, she will always lack energy and will need to sleep in the early evening. But don't worry, her health is perfect. Aside from feeling tired in the evening, everything would be normal for her." She added as she looked at Elliot who was sitting on the bed and was holding Iris' hands.

"Her condition?" What she said roused Elliot's full attention. "What do you mean, Belona?" He asked the woman.

Belona, or Bella as Iris would call her, was the pack doctor/warrior who had been assigned to look after Iris' health and safety.

"You should know. She is carrying your child." Belona casually uttered and Elliot's body froze as he felt his heart and brain stopped working.
