Darkness overwhelms me the moment I open my eyes. Looking through my surroundings, not a bit of light can be seen. Just from the looks of it it seems to be in the middle of the night.

Where am I?

The softness under me is without a doubt a bed. The scent of the room is familiar. This is most probably Lucas' bed and I'm most probably in his room.

I relax and try to adjust my vision to my surroundings. When did I come to bed? I try to remember what happened before I fell asleep.

Wind. Blood. Pain.

Ah, that's right. I was ambushed by Analise in the hallway and the other students blamed me. The feeling of being rejected and the feeling of being looked down upon made me upset. And then, there's a voice. Instructing me to control the wind energy.

Control them. Order them.

Punish them.

Show them your powers.

Then, what happened after was a blur. I seem to have used my control over the wind energy in anger.

But, where is Lucas?

I try getting up but I can't move a muscle. It feels like my body is very exhausted and I have no energy to even lift a finger.

"Lucas?" I tried calling him and heard how hoarse my voice sounded.

What is happening to me?

I force myself to breathe deeply in order to calm myself. I close my eyes to concentrate on breathing. This seems effective because the hard beating of my heart eased a bit. Besides, I don't feel any danger. I am in Lucas' room and he is probably just out doing some of his pack duties. I am just probably exhausted because of using too much wind energy.

However, my newly found calmness didn't last long. A sense of danger emanates from my chest. But this is very weird. I feel that I myself am very much protected. How is it that I feel this sense of danger?

Maybe, the one that is in danger is not me?

Panic starts to envelope my heart. Lucas should be safe. I feel that he is safe. But, I feel an imminent sense of danger that I can't ignore.

I try to move but to no avail. I have to warn them, but I can't move an inch.

"Lucas?" I called Lucas again, but my voice came out like a hoarse whisper.

Suddenly, there's pierce pain in my heart. This pain, it feels like someone has stabbed me from behind.

Was I stabbed? I slowly inhale and find that I had no difficulty in breathing. I clearly felt the stab, so it means someone else was stabbed? Just when I was thinking about it, a huge sense of loss overwhelmed me.

This.. no!

Just then, another pierce blow was felt on my head. I feel like my head exploded. This feeling is followed by another huge sense of loss.

"LU--LUCAS!" I try to call Lucas the loudest that I can muster. The overwhelming pain and sense of loss in my chest helped me to increase my voice.

Fortunately, there's a knock on the door a second after my call.

"Luna?" I hear a hesitant call from the door.

"Co-come in." I manage to say with my hoarse voice. Then, I hear the door squeaking. Light came from the door and I see a tall man who I recognize as a third year from the school comes in. I guess he is one of the warriors that Lucas has stationed to look after my safety.

"Lucas?" I choke up. Tears are starting to pile on my eyes.

"There's a matter that requires the attention of the Alpha. He hurriedly left with the Beta around two hours ago." The guy carefully informs me. He must be curious why I am emotional.

"Where?" Did he check on the danger that I felt earlier? He needs to come there quickly.

"On the east border town." he replies.

"Someone's... badly hurt. Please check. Tell Lucas." I manage to tell him.

The guy looks at me confusedly. But then he firmly nodded his head.

"Yes." He quickly replies before he dials someone from his phone. His voice is soft and I just manage to hear him reporting the matter to Tristan.

Although my feelings are in a sense of disarray, I can't help but notice how different his manner of talking to me. It is like the guy treats me with respect. He also did what I asked him to do right away. If this happened before, they wouldn't even acknowledge my call. I am not sure what happened, but I am grateful that he listened to me.

"Luna, the Beta said that the Alpha and he are heading back. He already dispatched his squad to check on everyone." The guy reports to me after his call.

Ahh. That's good. Lucas is coming back.

I woke up again to see the ceiling in Lucas' room. The bird is chirping outside and sunlight is peeking from the side of the curtain. It seems to be a beautiful morning, however, I know that today is going to be a hard day.

I sit up and find that although still feeling tired, I can already move my body. With difficulty, I stand up and try to walk outside. Unfortunately, there is not enough strength on my legs so I fall down the floor after trying two steps.

Right away, there is a knock on my door.

"Luna?" I hear a familiar voice outside and feel relief on my chest.

"Tristan. Please help me, I need to find Lucas." I call to him.

Tristan opens the door and finds me on the floor. He immediately comes to me. "Luna, you are still weak, I will tell the Alpha that you want to see him." He tells me.

"No, I can go to him. He must be busy. Please support me." I reply with a resolute expression.

Tristan looks at me before he nods. "Yes." He pulls me up through my arms. "Then Luna, I'll run with speed. Is that good?"

I nod in reply. Tristan holds both of my arms from behind and I feel that my body is being lifted before he runs to the study with great speed. In less than ten seconds, we arrived in front of Lucas' study. The door is a bit open and I see Lucas sitting in his chair. He is talking to several pack members. He notices me right away and comes to us fast. Immediately, he puts his arms on my waist and lifts me away from Tristan.

"Lilly, you are still weak. Why have you come?" Lucas asks me after he sent Tristan a glare.

"Lucas." I grip his shirt and look into his eyes. "There was danger. There are.. some who are badly hurt and.. two of them.. they are gone." I softly inform Lucas while gripping his shirt with a stronger hold.
