After a lot of persuasion and crying and wiping tears and chocolates, Tae HwaShin was being helped by JaeHwan to pack his bags and shift all his minuscule luggage to the Kim family mansion.
"For the hundredth time, Shin-ah, you won't be burdening us," said JaeHwan, as he pushed the bare minimum of Shin's clothes in a duffle bag. JaeHwan had forced Shin to sit down and play with his torn plush, while he put all of Shin's belongings in bags. "It's useless anyway," he sighed, "Eomma will get you everything new. You won't wear this anymore." JaeHwan held up Shin's favorite hoodie, which had holes in it.
"That's -" Shin said aloud, "That's too much! I can't possibly accept it."
"Then get used to it," JaeHwan smirked, "you're a part of us now."
"Hyung..." Shin whined, "at least let me buy you food. Look, you are sweating."
"Just stay where you are, can't you see I am earning brownie points by doing all the work for you? Strong, dependable and polite, don't I look like a perfect boyfriend material?"
Shin blinked, before turning a bright shade of pink and throwing his plush all the way across the room to hit JaeHwan.
❢◥ ▬▬▬▬▬▬ ◆ ▬▬▬▬▬▬ ◤❢"Goodness, just look at how thin you are," said JaeHwan's mother, sighing for what felt like the thousandth time that day. "My darling Shinnie."
"Exactly," said DanTae, "you used to be cute. What happened to you now?" The man had his arms folded over his chest and spoke in a voice even deeper than JaeHwan (which Shin thought wasn't possible). Unlike his wife, who was fawning over HwaShin as much as she could, Kim DanTae was just staring at him, aside from a corner, in disbelief.
"Why are you being mean, Appa," JaeHwan tutted, "don't make him cry."
"He cries?" DanTae unfolded his arms and leaned forward, "tell me more!"
"Yeah," JaeHwan narrowed his eyes, "no more information for you." He grabbed a hold of Shin's shoulders and drove him away from his parents, until he reached the stairs and had Shin cornered along the wooden railing. "Sorry for Abbeoji, he teases a lot."
"Okay." Shin nodded, his eyes fixed up on the extraordinarily high ceiling above and his mouth open. His hands hugged his small, battered old plush to his heart. He had been like that since he came back to the Kim mansion about an hour ago and was led around by JaeHwan, who was keen to show him the patio, the gardens and lawns, the greenhouse, the terrace, the dining hall and the swimming pool. After a while, Shin's eyes lost focus.
"Hey," JaeHwan snapped a finger in front of Shin's eyes and chuckled, "are you even listening to me?"
"Oh yes," Shin gulped and looked back to the older boy, "it's a nice house... very nice."
