If you're in a state of distress
And you want to do is regress
When it's your worth that they're doubting
Onto yourself, they're so despising.

                          
If you're experiencing persecution
Pertaining to your gender or religion
When they're finding wrong against you
To show that they're better than you.

                          
If you acquire a reprimand
Because they merely misunderstand 
When they boast for their achievement
And look down on you with resentment.

                          
Humble thyself, that's what the Lord says
Accept correction and stock a lot of patience 
For righteousness' sake, don't surrender
Take courage from God and persevere.
