Chapter 23: Off We Go

September 1st.  

King Cross Station/ Platform 9 3/4

Albus POV

James walked ahead of me with his cart as we weaved around King's Cross.  Lily was skipping beside me, Mum and Dad behind us.

Today I go to Hogwarts.  I felt like I was going to faint.  Many questions running through my head.  

What if I'm a Slytherin? Or Hufflepuff? Ravenclaw? Maybe Gryffindor?  Would the student like me?  What if I'm a failure to the Potter name? What is I don't fit in? What if I fail classes? What if- I was cut out of my thoughts as I heard Mum tell James to go through the column.  Mum took Lily as dad put a hand on my shoulder,

"Together" I nodded as we walked onto the famous platform seconds later.  We made our way over to the Weasley's.  I started talking to Scorpius and Troy when Rose, Molly and Aquila joined.

"Right, so who de we know in our age?" Scorpius asked.

"Well, us" Rose started motioning to the five of us, "the Scamander twins and Alice Longbottom."

He nodded.

"Kids! Come say goodbye!" I heard Aunt Hermione say as the train pulled into the station. We quickly made our way to our families saying goodbye.

I hugged Mum,

"I love you, no matter what." She whispered kissing my head, then she moved to James,

I looked down as Dad hugged me, "dad? What is I am put in Slytherin,"

He breathed "Albus Severus Potter ," he started "you are named after two headmasters of Hogwarts, one of them was a Slytherin, and he was the bravest man I've ever known."

"But just say that I am"

"Then Slytherin house will have gained one wonderful young wizard." He paused seeing my confliction "Listen, if it means that much to you, you can choose Gryffindor, the sorting hat takes your choice into account"

"Really?"

"Really" he looked at me Sirius my the whole time.

I nodded as he hugged me once more.

The whistle blew and we started heading to the train.  We got stopped by Vic and Teddy running to us.  

"Hey wait!" Teddy shouted at us.  Both had messy hair and disheveled clothes.  Uncle Bill looked furious as Aunt Fleur smirked.  

Vic bid her parents a quick goodbye before kissing Teddy's cheek and heading onto the train with her friends. Teddy walked over to us and hugged James before moving to me. 

He hugged me and whispered "don't be afraid to be different.  Listen to what is best for you.  Don't try to conform to their standards." He Pat my head before letting go and smiling at me while picking up Lily onto his shoulders. I smiled at them before walking I to the train and into a compartment with Troy, Scorpius, Aquila, Molly, and Rose.

Off to Hogwarts.  Hope their ready for us.

Time skip to waiting outside the hall,

Scorpius POV

We stood outside the Great Hall, waiting to be sorted.  Crossing the lake, and seeing the castle was awesome.  Better than father described it.

I stood next to Albus and Rose as the students in front and behind us conversed. I say McGonagall  walk in front of us as she started talking about the houses and a few rules for the year.  She led us into the big famous Great Hall.  The students looked at us as we walked at the front.  I saw My brothers, James, Freddy, Vic, Rox, Della, Gabe, Richie, and oddly enough Anthony Pucey smile or wave at us.  I knew the last one was directed towards my sister who also saw and cowered slightly until I pulled her closer to me a bit.

McGonagall stood next to a stool with a scroll and hat in her hand and started reading off names.

As they were sorted they went to their new table.  

"Rose Granger-Weasley"

A few moments passed "Gryffindor!"

I clapped and smiled at her as she slipped to the table next to James.

Again waiting a few people, "Alice Longbottom" I saw Frank sit up slightly at his sisters name.

"Ravenclaw!" She, as well as a few of our friends, looked a little confused as Uncle Nev smiled encouragingly at his daughter.  

We waited a few more names "Aquila Malfoy" a few whispers flew at her name and when she moved up to the stool.

Aquila POV

I heard a few whispers as I moved to sit on the stool and Minerva placed the hat on my head. 

"Ahhh, Aquila Malfoy ehhh? The Malfoy princess."

"Don't call me that"

"Okay, fine then, 

Intelligence of the Ravenclaw

Courage of the Gryffindor

Cunning and resourcefulness of the Slytherin

And kindness of the Hufflepuff

But where to put you?

You don't truly belong in Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw would be better but still not right, Gryffindor is a possibility as is Slytherin."

"Well I'm not sure, anywhere you think is alright"

"It'll be..."
